Rivervixen’s piggies

All piggies health checked today, all at lovely weights and all healthy. I have noticed what they call a fungal nose stripe on Wren, it isnt bothering her and its only feint, I did type it into google and Ellie's facebook post about it came up, then typed it into forum and was very relieved

Take it one day at a time, and enjoy the spring 😊 you're doing amazing. I know cage cleans can take it out of you, it hurts my back because we have a floor cage, but once its done its done. Hope the gardener coming made you feel better too, my mum always gets excited on the phone telling me how well her gardener has done

Thank you. The garden looks tidier again with all the big shrubs cut back. I am thankfully so much more mobile compared to last year so I can do some cutting back and tidying up of the borders myself. By the time I could bend down, we were already in the middle of a major Spring/Summer drought, so getting into the ground was not possible. Most of my cages are floor cages, which is not the best thing with a broken hip and a brain tumour.

What I currently lack is physical strength and stamina, and I have to be still rather careful about getting dizzy/balancing on uneven ground - the latter may stay with me, but it is at least only a comparatively minor issue now.

My MRI results came back normal! I'm so relieved. I've been stuck in bed today due to pain, but its a relief all the same. The piggies thank everyone for the love, they're gorgeous and they know it 😊

HUGS

That is a real relief. I'll hear tomorrow how things are looking for me after my own head MRI.
But I am very sorry that you are still in pain.

Sorry to hear you are in pain. Wishing you comfort and strength 🙏❤️

Sorry you’re still in pain @Rivervixen but glad the MRI test came back clear.
Sometimes it’s slow progress ruling out out possibilities until the real cause is found.
Holding you in my heart ♥️
Glad the piggies are ok - still gorgeous

Shy Little Meg 🌈 had a fungal nose stripe for years. It eventually went away all on it's own.

Fungal nose stripes are the most benign form of a fungal infection. My Nerys (the big one in the avatar) and her sister Nia had them; they originally came from a breeder and could not be handled, so their new owners promptly dumped them on the RSPCA where I adopted them from.

Like @Betsy says, you can just leave a nose stripe be as it will eventually go away on its own again or, if it bugs you too much, get some 1% athletes foot cream (the less strong one) or give the stripe a very gentle bath with a cottonbud dipped in some diluted anti-dandruff/anti-fungal shampoo if you happen to have that at home. But it is nothing to worry about if it is just a mildly crusty stripe.

Thank you for the reassurance 😊 its so feint that it is barely visible, it isn't bothering her at all so that's good, think I only noticed it because she has such a dark little nose 😊 I've figured out my source of stress, losing Ozzy broke me, and my partners condition hasnt helped, but the only constant source of stress has been my job and how I've been treated. It's been 2 years of borderline bullying and I'm at a point of where my body is telling me that it cannot take it anymore. Started to apply to other things as well as look at other options, I'm still having the constant migraines, but when I went shopping there earlier it was hurting through 2 tramadol which it doesn't usually do, it didn't help that someone made a snide comment towards me. Your body really does tell you when things aren't right.

I'm sorry to hear that you are being bullied at work. Sending wishes for comfort and strength. I hope the pain subsides 🙏❤️

Some pigtures, even when life is difficult, they make every day worth it 💖

Well doesn't life come at you fast sometimes! I'm now 2 months into my migraines that my doctor has labelled as chronic, with today being one of the worst ones I've ever had. Yesterday my OH had his camera imaging, only to find out that he has chrons disease 😕 so his surgery is going to be a little more complicated than we first thought. Piggies are happy and doing piggie things, but their humans are severely overloaded. One day at a time!

It must be frightening to have terrible migraine attacks come on. I am sorry this is happening. I wonder if the migraines will diminish as you age. I hope your partner will be OZZK 🙏❤️

It is frightening to be honest, but less so with the MRI coming back clear. I've accepted that this might be my new normal, it just means that I will no longer be able to work as they are unpredictable 😕 thank you, he said it was a relief and much better than he was expecting, even though cronhs isn't great to have 💖

Sending wishes for comfort and strength 🙏❤️ I'm glad your piggies are doing well, they must be a great comfort 🥰

I’m so sorry to read what a tough time you and your oh are coping with.
I’m sure your oh will get thru the surgery ok and it will improve his day to day life
( I’ve known many acquaintances that had crohns disease and got to a stage of managing it
Have you thought of trying massage @Rivervixen ? I’d try head and general massage
I found my shoulders were very tense always and that caused the muscles to seize and caused the follow up migraine headaches…. so debilitating
Also do you grind your teeth ?
I worked as a dental hygienist and I had many patients that ground their teeth at night resulting in severe headaches and with a mouth guard the headaches stopped.
I’d really hope it could be as simple as the above and I know it may not be but worth checking …..
Sending support and love to you both
