Rushing Liquorice to the vets!

I'm pretty sure it's not the eye itself, the vet can find no problems with it, and that's with the tests.. I think it's her sinus.. I suffer blocked sinuses and know how uncomfortable it can be.
But i'm starting to wonder if something totally unconnected is behind the eating issues, as she's still behaving normally, running about, passing poops etc.
Removing her eye won't cure her sinus issues? I'm confused..

Oh I see. I thought her problem was her eye. Hmm seems like they are not totally sure of what is wrong. Poor little one. I know it is a huge worry for you.

She's decided that 'carpet' is in the food group................. I've shown her the red card and put her back in her house....
I wish I knew what was behind this.. I know her inner ear on that side is itchy too though, but not on the other ear... also, she's itchy behind this ear too.. strange?

Just when I thought we were loosing the battle she comes back fighting again.. I've just being crying as when I cleaned her eye, she started licking my fingers. She wouldn't do that yesterday, in fact, she's just come out of the house for the first time in 24 hours.
I've been hand feeding her, and even syringe fed her last night in the hope she'd perk up. Well it seems she's decided she doesn't need me to baby her, and is back to doing things for herself. I really don't know how much more of this I can take, it's just getting too much for the both of us. This time last week she was chasing the other females around trying to boss them.
Her weight is stable, so that's something I suppose, just wish I could magic what ever is behind this away, but we're not miracle workers are we?

You are being so strong and coping so well. I really could not have coped as well as you are. It sounds like she is getting strong again. She clearly loves you and is kissing you to let you know. :)

A picture taken 18 months ago - Humbug was just a baby getting over a abscess at that time, Liquorice didn't exactly mother her :)) But Humbug wanted to be with her, guess she thought maybe she was her mum :a19:

She's never been a fatty, guess it's all part of being a stress head which is what she used to be (we're very alike lol!)..

Is this the behaviour of a sick guinea pig?

Liquorice has gone from subdued to me having to watch her every move, as she's now a serial carpet eater.. caught her in the act of doing a runner into the living room.

She's been quiet all weekend, and over the course of the day, has come back round, and demolished a few spinach leaves, a few handfuls of grass with dandelion leaves mixed in, and a lettuce leaf..
She's now on the nuggets and hay, waiting for supper rather loudly :))

Wow they are brave to leave the room and explore. She does indeed look well. It is great to see her moving. I like your sofas. You have a lovely home.

Her eye is still causing problems, she's eating ok, and still on the volterol, going to re-arrange another visit about mid week to discuss other options.. really don't know what to do now, but we can't go on like this :... I'm at the point where I'm not sure I want to put her through any more :( It's making me upset all the time and worry myself sick.. Lord only knows how she feels :0

Oh noooo ........ i'm so sorry to hear she's gone backwards again :0:...
Our thoughts are with you both, i know you'll be worried sick....

She's rallying again this morning, wish some one would get us off this rollercoaster ride, we want off.... her appetite is normal..
She's getting probiotics twice a day, after her eye drops, to keep her digestive system ticking over, she's seeming much more chatty and enjoying lap time again..

She was bullied out of the house this morning :( By her best friend 8...
I've introduced some Gerty Guinea into her diet, to try and keep food interesting. She is eating, but miserable as she feels rejected..
Things seem better tonight, so I guess Treacle although a lot older, was trying to climb up the pecking order (oust Liquorice)..

Oh poor little thing. They can be so mean to each other sometimes especially when somebody is unwell.

Different again last night, they all had time out, and were keeping me busy. I think things are back under control again, got to go back to vets though for some more Volterol, seems the drops escaped from the container last night and have had to open a new one (the last one)...
