Sleep Tight Archie!

So I went up to give the boys their evening veggies and found my poor baby Archie had passed away in his house! I cried like a baby whilst poor Artie sat in the corner watching me (or so it looked like). I’m so upset, even more upset that I don’t know why?
He was always tiny and had one day where he stopped eating, I was going to take him to see a vet but the next day he seemed back to his usual self and eating and drinking as normal. Then yesterday I saw what looked like black wee in their tunnel but didn’t know who’s it was.. but they both seemed absolutely fine. He was also fine today eating as normal and running around and then he’s just gone, I can’t believe it

Will Artie be ok? Will he be okay in the same hutch that Archie passed away in as they share a hutch indoors. I’m scared he’s gonna be lonely and so confused, he will have to have his first night on his own, oh my god is there anything I should do? Any advice? Thank you

Thank you everyone!

I plucked up the courage to say my last goodbye and make sure he was all cosy ready to be buried, I was crying like a baby. But we noticed he had mites! How come we had never noticed this before? Would they of come about because he was ill even though we didn’t know or would he of passed away because of them? So strange how we’d never noticed then when I was saying goodbye it’s like they appeared from nowhere! My poor baby I was a right mess! We checked Artie and we have noticed he also has a few so we’re taking him to the vets after work tomorrow! We can’t give him a piece of blanket with Archie’s smell on either because of the mites but he seems okay so far, he’s had lots of cuddles! Feel so bad that we never noticed earlier but it’s as if they appeared from nowhere x

I'm so sorry for your loss. It is always so hard to lose a pet, particularly when it's unexpected. We just lost one of our pets last week (one of hamsters, not one of the pigs) and I am having a really hard time with it, so I definitely empathize with you. ((HUGS.))
