Someone on the Guinea pigs Facebook page said this hutch was suitable for four sows, is this true?

Hi.
I’ve got four girls. They’re currently in a 5ft hutch with two floors and it’s too small for them and I hate it. My parents decided to take down my 3x4 cc cage and stick them back in the hutch without telling me because they didn’t like how much space it took up, and they are redecorating.
I want to be able to give them enough room but also keep my parents happy.
They keep arguing that they’re fine with a ramp and they don’t need all the space on one level, two levels are fine. I’ve argued and argued with no luck. They have to be in the living room as I have been moved into the box bedroom and can barely even fit a bed and a wardrobe in it now. When I got them I was in the biggest room. I had 9 pigs at the time when they decided to move me into the box room. Had to re home my 4 boys (two separate cages) because I just didn’t have space. One girl has since died.

If I bought this cage, would it be enough space for my 4 girls?

183x62 cm

Also, if I painted it, to match the new living room, would it still be safe to use?

That size would only really be appropriate for 3 sows unfortunately. It's the same as a 2 x 5 C&C so a little small for your current herd.
However if it is going to be inside is there some way you can add a permanent run around the front to give them a bit more space?
Maybe use some fo the C&C grids from your old cage?

It would be safe to paint the hutch with animal safe paint.

I could try. It could be awkward though as I have a cat and a dog too. Would a 7ft hutch work? I could maybe buy an outdoor run and build a bottom the same way you would a c&c cage

A 7ft hutch is the size which is needed for four sows but 7ft isn’t commercially available - you’d have to have it custom made.

The 6ft hutch is only ok if you add extra permanent space to the front and never shut the hutch doors

Have you looked at the ferplast 160 plaza with extension pieces? You can get house ends and smaller pieces that clip on the end to make it longer, as getting a hutch that big is challenging.
I think @Bill & Ted have extensions on theirs!
