My late Nui was an abyssinian from a breeder and she didn't have a particular rough coat. After studying up on abyssinions a bit, I keep reading that they are rough coated. I'm now hoping that Mr Bob is Peruvian mix as he's amazingly soft. I think I'm panicking that I have another satin!
Opinions or reassurance please![]()

Maybe "rough coat" means the coat is wavy rather than smooth, as opposed to having rough or coarse hairs? I can understand you feeling unnerved because of having had a satin tho. After studying up on abyssinions a bit, I keep reading that they are rough coated. IncrediBob!View attachment 285728Finished cleaning the cage then walked into the lounge to be greeted by this sight of the boys on Mr Fluffysals lap.
Mr Bob has gone from 595g to 787g in 5 weeks.
Clever little piggy, he's a great dadPigcam has revealed a very interesting behaviour. Sir George has always been one to let more water out of his bottle than he drinks. I've now watched him dribble the water on his front feet then wet his face with it, mostly his ears. He has also been seen wetting Mr Bob's ears too! I've been refreshing the water several times a day and he's definitely more likely to do it with the freshly cold water.

It could be, I did have young ones who quietened down as they grew into adults.I don't know if it's because he's young
Maybe he's just saying "Good morning! How nice to see you!"Even when I get up "on time" as soon as he hears movements he's summoning me!
Oh, Sir G! You dont have to be dignified all the time. Everyone loves a happy popcorn!Sir George was not so Dignified this morning. Mr Bob was doing his usual circuit course at full speed (and volume) around the cage while I sorted breakfast. They both then disappeared into a dark corner under the loft and I heard a kerfuffle. My immediate concern was that they were having a disagreement. Then, after much squealing, Sir George rolled into view! He continued rolling around kicking his little legs and squeaking for a few seconds before launching into the biggest round of popcorning that I've seen from him for a couple of years. Mr Bob was attempting to watch him but having his own moment, he looked like a floofy bucking bronco.
