Adult Guinea Pig
So I've seen at least two full blown arguments about giving piggies bananas and/or oranges off the forum. What do you think of giving piggies either one? Quite a few think one bite kills so I'm just curious

Thanks! I've given Ginny some banana ages ago but he didn't like it. I'll see about giving the girls some later![]()
...there is no such thing as eating "too much fruit", with the exception of acidic fruits like oranges/grapefruits, as part of a varied diet in humans, as natural sugars are not harmful to your body in "normal" amounts. You're right that guinea pigs shouldn't be fed fruit often, but it would be simply wrong to say that you shouldn't feed guinea pigs fruit once in a while. Please try not to spread misconceptions.dont like the though of those sugers , there tummieis are already a
delicat unough,
there is warnings for humans , and there tummies are apparintly for more
sensertive
the only time i use a tinny amount of frute is to tempt a pig that is off its food
and then only a tinny peice to get them thinking about food
You're right that you shouldn't feed them fruit or veggies if their tummy is very upset, but that's not what you said - you said you should never feed them fruit at all, which isn't true.lolso my vet must have been mistaken when he advises no frut or veg if tummy ,poops are upset
and thats to say nothing for the tummy trobles i get if i eat to much frute
try doing a google serch, for the afects of to much frute
