It is a lovely pictureView attachment 272118
This picture is elsewhere on the forum but sometimes you capture a piggy just right. I think this one deserves a place here as well.
Sadly Red stopped eating yesterday. I think the end is near. He went to bed after his dinner Saturday night as normal, he was his usual cheeky demanding self. I've been awake most of the night thinking things over and had decided to ring the vet first thing this morning. On reflection he is comfortable (still accepting his pain meds) and in his bed with Brillo the other side of the divider. Everything is very calm so I have decided to wait and see if he will go without intervention. Of course I will take him to the vet if he struggles or is in pain. My vets have someone available 24/7 although out of hours won't be an exotic vet. I would prefer him to go at home in familiar surroundings.
Ironically I have a pair of young babies arriving this evening from a neighbour. I did think about asking to delay the arrival but then decided they would be a welcome distraction and they will be better off here in our north facing room with the temperatures rising even more tomorrow.
Thank you.
This bit is hard, wanting to throw everything into saving them when you know you can't, there's no cure for old age.
Working out building a baby proof cage has kept me busy and my mind off things. I've never had such tiny piggies before (not exactly sure how many weeks old yet until I speak to the owner tonight), the temperature here is forecast to be 33 tomorrow and the babies are in a neighbours shed.

How is Red this am ?One of the babies is lying out in the open. I really should go and check on Red and try to get some sleep but I don't want to move and scare him.
