Thank you ever so much Wiebke The piggles have all been checked over by my vet and I can do health checks to an extent I grew up on a farm and I have done Animal Care at Bishop Burton to I can detect most things but I still had them checked by a vet as I cant check to that level of medical care They are all passed but problems included Gammys eye but they said it would be pointless and harmful to operate as he is in no pain and is living fine. Fushas broken leg they said it would be to risky to operate and she is young eating and drinking fine she may grow up with just a limp and the Orphans that he thought would not survive the night.... they are doing much better now all three are advancing especially the male he is so greedy in the morning.
Has Fusha got painkillers or is the break old and already half-healed? You will have to have to keep an eye out for arthritis issues in the longer term although piggies usually just get on with life, whether that is an impaired limb or impaired sight. In which way is the eye gammy? Is it as a result of an untreated eye injury or infection?
It is great that you can pull the orphans through. Hopefully, they did get some colostrum (antibody-laden first milk) from mum before she died, as that is going to improve their chances of survival massively. Make sure that you weigh them once daily and that you separate the boy in time (3 weeks, unless he is well over or under 250g).
