Hello,

This might be me being very anxious and cautious but I have noticed a few things when doing a daily health check on my pigs.

Ginger has a few things on 2 of her feet. Her front one on the second picture has what looks like yellowish hard skin. There’s no open wound and it doesn’t seem sore.

The back foot has a pinkish tinge (her foot has always had a somewhat pinkish tinge) and like a dark spot on the skin (I can’t remember seeing it there before).

Their cage is covered by fleece which I change out twice daily. They are never on hard floor. Ginger has just been looked over by a vet on Monday and they did not mention seeing anything.

I’ve soaked her front foot in hibiscrub and then washed and dried. I applied F10 to both feet.

Any advice would be great!

Thank you

I’ve ordered the Gorgeous Guineas foot ointment as well

The hard yellow skin is looks to be foot spurs. Harmless areas of dead skin that are best left alone.
Sometimes if they get too big they can catch, and in that case you should see the vet for a check. Don’t attempt to remove yourself as they can bleed a lot.

I don’t see bumblefoot. Bumblefoot is open wounds. Keep an eye on it in case it changes and does open but unless you can see something in real life that isn’t coming across in the picture, I don’t think I see an area of concern.

It is best to not use creams on feet unless there is a reason to: using creams and such like can soften the skin and then that risks causing bumblefoot. They need the skin on their feet to be tough

Thank you, I thought the front foot might be spurs. I’ll keep an eye on it to see if it grows and if so I will take her to the vet. The dark spot may be something that was already there but I will keep an eye out. I may get better pictures tonight after work when I can get someone else to hold her

Here’s some more pictures that I’ve taken. The bottom foot is like a black spot with a little red around it. The foot spurs are small and in the crack/side of her front foot. I’ve looked at the rest of her feet again and they seem okay

Our piggies always worry us don’t they 🥰
I’m glad Ginger’s feet are ok
@Piggies&buns has given you the best advice.

Checking Ginger’s feet for any changes seems the best way 🥰
