The Wheaky Beans herd

That's nothing, you guys have it made. Next week we turn the clocks back but I have a cat that walks on my head at 5 sharp! And pigs that don't just quietly queue for pellets... they are monsters!

Well it looks like none of the Wheaky Beans wanted to be left out of the URI party so they’re all on a course of antibiotics for a week (and on top of Cino’s cocktail of heart meds now!). Fingers crossed they’ll all pull through until they next decide when to drain pig mum’s bank account once more (usually just before she’s due to go away somewhere!)

I hope they start to get better quickly. Wishing you strength in coping 🙏

The girls finish their course of antibiotics tomorrow evening. Cappuccino is beginning to stabilise on her heart meds and make less hooting noises than before. Taking it a day at a time! Luckily, Macchiato’s appetite hasn’t been affected by these antibiotics and has been tucking into her fresh hay gladly.

Glad things are turning out better, it must be a great relief. I hope lovely Cappuccino continues to improve 🙏

Cappuccino has been making more hooting noises again over the last couple of days. However she is active, eating and being her usual self this morning. I’m meant to be going away for the weekend but riddled with trepidation about leaving her in the care of our excellent petsitter who comes in twice a day. The vets is closed most of this weekend if she was to deteriorate further. Having a heart piggy is very nerve-wracking. I honestly don’t know how much longer she has left as her doubled dose of meds hasn’t eliminated her hooting noises much.

I’ve just been to the vets and sadly Cino’s heart is failing again (after going into failure last week and having her meds doubled to the max limit) so I’ve had to make the heart-breaking decision to have her put to sleep. Absolutely gutted.

I’m sorry you’ve had to make that decision ….but you know if was out of love and care for Cappuccino
That’s all our piggies need from us , love ,care, food and safety and she was living her best life with you all
Sadly it was just her time
Popcorn freely at Rainbow bridge sweet girl ….free from pain and discomfort
Take care of yourselves as you grieve her loss

Thanks so much, I know it was the right decision but it’s going to take some time to sink in. It’ll be a huge adjustment as she was the boss pig of my herd and a huge character (physically and personality-wise!). I just hope my other two sows aren’t negatively affected with her loss.

Aw gosh, I’m so sorry for your loss. It was the right decision and you did everything you could, including letting her go peacefully when it was her time. She was a beautiful girl ❤️

Sending hugs to you and the rest of your herd while you’re grieving

I am so sorry that you had to give Cino that last gift of love.
Even when you know it’s the right thing to do, it’s still a heartbreaking decision.
Be gentle with yourself as you grieve.
Hugs 🤗
