I would not panic yet, but if you are worried, try to see the vet. it is a very good sign that he is pooing and peeing; that means that the pain is not so bad that he is not eating and drinking. Sometimes, it can take a day or two for a piggy to pick up.

Hopefully that's the case but I suppose better safe than sorry. I just want to take all his hurt away :( At least the wounds are nice and clean (although they won't stay that way if he keeps huddling in his own puddles!)

Blimey. Well, the general consensus at the vets was that he was doing ok but they gave him an injected painkiller and said if he still hadn't picked up by tomorrow to come back again. In the two minutes it took me to get to the vets he unleashed about a week's worth of poopers in one go and is now scampering around his cage, rumbling at the girlies and nibbling his hay for the first time. Still not himself but certainly a lot happier for some pain relief!

That's great news! At least taking him to the vet will put your mind at ease more. :)

Good news! Looks like he is on the right path!

That's brilliant, glad he is doing ok and the pain relief helped.

Fab ! How's he's eating and drinking now ?

Heh, straight back to sleep after some hay and fresh dandelion leaves. He keeps giving me awful stink-eyes, he definitely holds me fully responsible for his condition!

You wait, when he's in will the girls. He will be a new man

Aww bless him! I'm sure he'll perk up when he see's the ladies and all will be forgiven :)

Poor fluff-pig Thor. I'm sure if someone did that to me I would be feeling sorry for myself and demanding pain relief! Hope he is up to his usual tricks soon. His sisters send healing wheeks for a speedy recovery.

In the last half an hour he's perked up considerably, been up and waddling about almost constantly, looking for the girls next door (who were both on my lap). Hopefully this is a turning point!

Aww bless him, I can only imagine how he felt if he wasn't sent home with pain relief. I've had surgery before and was taking pain relief for about a week or so afterwards to help the recovery poor little boy

Glad to hear he's perked up. It sounds like he was in pain and the meds have done the trick. I think there's a lot to be said for having gone back to the vets and having your own mind put at rest even if they do say there's nothing to worry about. It's what I would've done too.

Look's like he's turned a corner! It's suprising what painkillers can do :) Yay for happy Thor-pig :)

My little stinky-bum is much happier today. I am a little worried about him sitting in his piddle-puddles though, he's got a constantly wet tummy and smells awful! I keep moving his pigloo around so he's not sat there too long and change the towel three times a day but am concerned that constant pee-drenching isn't going to do his incisions any favours!

I don't mean to sound so clueless, but do they normally piddle that much and I don't notice (as he's usually on Snowflake shavings and hay)? :hmm:

Could you get some vetbed? It will soak right through to the towels underneath.

I should be able to - there are a plethora of pet shops nearby so one of them is bound to stock it. Wet wipes are helping but I feel I need to get him dry too, poor piglet!

He is one bored piggy! I might give him a waddle around the hall today as his hospital cage is quite small, and give his tummy a wash. The fleece I had him on last night has helped hin dry out nicely but he is very pongy!

Is he in a pigloo thingy. They can get very warm and moist in them. A shoe box might help for now. I can't use pigloo my boy gets too smelly and the bedding in them gets a lot wetter :vom: I thing it because there not breathable

He is, yes. It is one with slots cut in the top but that's a good shout - I might try something a bit more open-ended :)

Mr Stinky-bum Thor-pig has his post-op vet check tomorrow. One thing I will be mentioning is his piddles - he seems to be constantly leaking! I don't know why this could be but I am a little worried; I hope it isn't permanent!

Otherwise, he seems to be back to his usual hairy self, which is good!

Love to Thor, hope it goes well x
