Thought I would start a thread to chart Tim's progress over the next few weeks.

Tim has lost about 100g over the course of a month and on Friday I noticed that he was struggling to chew properly. A friend who helps me with any issues with my pigs asked me on Saturday if his incisors were slanted and they were. You can just about see this in the photo below. Anyway, by that time it was too late to get him to Simon so a dental was done locally and it was identified that there was an issue with one of his pre-molars and so this was clipped and filed and his incisors were burred. He came home a lot more comfortable and was able to eat much better. However he is using his paw when he eats anything leafy and so for peace of mind he is off to see Simon tomorrow to make sure there are no issues further back. He is managing to eat plenty, just very slowly. His poos are normal size. He feels ok in himself, is still leaping about, rumbling and humping poor Sophie's head.

I will update again tomorrow.

I have no idea why the photo is there twice, I had it as full size and now it's shrunk.

Fingers firmly crossed - at least you know that Tim is in good hands!

PS: I have sorted your picture.

Oh wow, she's doing brilliantly, must make it all so worthwhile.

Tim has seen Simon and his teeth were overgrown on the lower left arcade which apparently is the molars. He also smoothed the incisors a bit more as they were sharp. He thinks something a few weeks ago made him stop chewing on that side but can't say what. There is no sign of an abscess at the moment but he can't rule it out in the future. Am now on tenterhooks until I see him as they won't get home until about 8.

Aw bless. Fingers firmly he perks up soon and that you get to see Tim soon and cuddle him. Waiting is always the hardest part...but once he is home it will all be worth it ((hugs)) x

Poor you! At least now you know where you stand and that you can get Tim seen again if necessary.

Yes got home earlier than expected. He is bright in himself and has eaten hay, a couple of pellets, 1 bit of celery and some kale. No poos yet though and none in carrier and there were loads yesterday. Can see he still needs to get used to his mouth bless him.

He's bright and lively this morning, I couldn't find him at first and then the pigloo rumbled as Sophie walked past ;) He's eating, still a bit slower than normal but is trying and for the first time in a while all the veg has gone overnight. He is even managing really long fluffy bits of Alfalfa King Timothy hay. Seems to have decided he likes critical care too so is having that in a bowl aswell as a small amount of syringe feeding.

Sophie made me laugh yesterday. We left her at home as she gets too scared in a carrier, on Saturday she froze for 3 hours and didn't eat. When we got back I could see her under the vetbed, but she didn't get up to see him, it was only when she realised he had returned with a carrot that she got excited and stuck her head out and swiped it. Then when he ran up the top she followed him and they snuggled up together on the vetbed and she was grooming his face until he ruined it by humping her head.

Very bright and bouncy this morning and I swear he hasn't stopped eating yet. He juddered when doing a special poo last night so am in the process of trying to get a wee test, but he just kept jumping out the bucket last night so Ross will try again today when he is at home. Am hoping it is more the effect of food we have fed over the last few days as I have veered off his IC diet slightly in an attempt to get him to eat. Want to make sure there is no blood though, and if there is I will need to get him seen by the vet.

Well apparently 15ml of water and an hour later, he still hadn't pee'd so Ross is trying again later.

Oh, funnily enough, Jericho doesn't seem to want to pee either  The vet reckons he would avoid eating/drinking due to feeling uncomfortable when he goes to the toilet, he is eating though and my son just gave him water, so we'll see. I hope Tim as a pee!

Well Tim is still doing well, but I have booked a follow up appointment for next week to be sure. He is seeing Kim on Friday 7 August. He is very lively, and was chasing poor Sophie more than normal last night. They are in our bedroom so we were already having trouble sleeping from all the rumbling and upturning of pigloos but then he started chirping - really really loudly. I thought it was Sophie at first as I could see him walking about but no, it seems he can walk and chirp at the same time. I even turned the light on and went to check and he just stared at me still chirping. He kept stopping and restarting too. Very strange. He's not our first chirper, but definitely the loudest.
