Tim sees Kim this morning. Apparently his appetite has decreased which is possibly the result of the Zithromax, we will see what today brings. I know he is in the best place if he is not eating though. He is lively and bright in himself though which is typical Tim.
 
Tim has seen Kim who was hoping to see more improvement by now but when Debbie explained that up to Tuesday he had been having a lower and also more diluted dose, she realised that it was too soon to say so she is seeing him on Tuesday when he will have had a whole week on 1ml a day. Then they may look at adding in Marbocyl or switching to it. She doesn't want to suture the eye as there is nothing to gain from it and it will just add pressure. It is still moist. He has dropped 65g so the plan is to feed him whatever he will eat today and if he has dropped tomorrow or not gained even, Debbie will add in syringe feeding. His teeth are fine. He is bright and his usual self apart from eating slightly less. So still a waiting game but am positive.
 
They aren't sure yet. Will know more next week most likely.
 
Sending healing vibes from one Tim to another. So sorry to read what he has been going through Helen, but I'm also delighted that he has perked up tonight :)

Tim was at the vets for an xray this morning but Kim is not happy with his eye so we are looking at possible removal. Just waiting for either Kim or Simon to call me to go through the possibilities.
 
oh, the poor little mite. I am sending tons of healing vibes for little Tim. So sorry to hear he is not well.
 
He got through the op ok and was waking up when I spoke to Simon. Debbie is picking them both up at 7. He said it was very textbook, when they had removed the eye there was a bulge in the back of the socket which when they stitched the skin to the bulge it allowed them to make a hole and drain all the pus out. He called it marsupialisation I think (a pocket to flush?). So it was definitely a soft tissue abscess. He mentioned a capsule too, though I can't quite make sense of what I scribbled in my notebook. The hole has been left open for drainage and it will be flushed daily by Debbie and he is back on Zithromax to allow them to tackle the infection. It is still early days so we shall see. The xray as suspected did not really show much in the upper jaw though there is some evidence of tooth root problems in the lower jaw. While he was under they also xrayed his bladder and chest and there were no issues there. It is very much a wait and see situation.

The girls say he's such a brave &handsome fella. They send their love (but dont tell Sophie ;) )

We hope it won't be either. We miss them so much. They live in the bedroom so it's very quiet without them. Thank you Debbie. You're brilliant x
 
I have the pair of them in a hospital cage in my lounge, Tim has been eating non stop for over an hour now. He's like a totally different piggy to the one I took in to the vets this morning. You would think he would be feeling a bit sorry for himself, but quite the opposite. Although it's sad he has lost an eye, it really was so the right thing to do.
 
Debbie that's such wonderful news, has really cheered me up. Just shows it was the right thing to do, he must feel so much brighter now the pressure has gone. Sophie looks great too, really happy. His behaviour is typical Tim. The only pig in the world to have ever gone ten pin bowling lol. When we took him in we didn't know that day that we would get a call as I had replied to an advert on the off chance. Ross took the folding carrier into work in case. Then I got the call and he had a work outing with the companions he looks after to go bowling that he couldn't get out of so Tim went too, and loved all the attention. He used to live in an Imac Fantasy hamster cage and play with a chihaua.
