Hi, I've had my pig for about 6 months now and he's 2 years old. Around 4 months ago school began for me and Malcolm's the only piggie I've got so I'm worried he's been awful lonely. I'm unable to get a new piggie (I'm not king of the hill in my home) and each day it breaks my heart when I've got to leave. We do have a cat, but he's mostly neutral with Malcolm and doesn't really play or let him approach (He's not aggressive just old and against the new fangled animals). Any tips for toys and play?

Hi! You may find this thread here helpful; the best toys are thankfully the cheapest that guinea pigs can happily wreck to their heart's delight.

If it isn't possible to boar date him at a rescue centre to get him a friend (they really are better off if you can they are not wired to be on their own and are naturally herd animals) try changing around his cage and putting different stuff in different places. I change around my hutch every so often to keep my 5 piggies on their toes!

I have a crinkled brown bag in my pig cage which he seems fond of. Toilet paper rolls seem to be a favorite also.

There's a YouTube video I found where you take a toilet paper roll, cut eyes and stuff it with hay. After that, you give it arms and you've got a hay-man toy
