Vibes for Connie please

Hello, I am glad to hear that Connie is livelier today and not putting up with everything! It may be a bit of a nuisance, but it also means that she is recovering well and is asserting herself again. It is normal that they don't want to be touched where they're still sore (sorry, Eliza!). I'm relieved that Connie has escaped the indignity of a "mini-lampshade"! Not that she wouldn't have looked adorable with that little white twirl on top of her head...

At least, she's not tearing up her newspaper underbedding, chewing cardboard, wallpaper, hay bag, carpet fringes and generally rearranging the furniture just to adequately express her opinon on the treatment received - like Minx did! Never mention that it took the two of us to stand half a chance of getting a sufficient amount of antibiotic into a wiggling, tweaking and absolutely uncooperative bundle without hurting her belly.

Have a good day!

She did give me a fright yesterday because I picked her up and she was a little wet underneath and she left a spot of blood on me. I do hope she leaves well alone for now. The vet made me laugh when she said she'd have to staple a lampshade to her head if she didn't behave :))

We tried a lampshade for Tycho first, after his op. The thing was he was so small he just walked through it! I don't think he knew what we were laughing at - or why! :)):)):))

Glad she is improving a little, Claire. :)

I had a lampshade piggie for two weeks. Not easy at all. It does NOT work for piggies - not particularly safe or dignified! For one or two days, maybe (although ideally not at all), but for more than a few days it's not a great method. A body bandage is the better solution. :))

I can just imagine that :)) Luckily, she has left well alone since then so the 're stick' must have done the trick. My vet said that she would not put a lamp shade on a piggy because they have no neck and are so small it really isn't ideal. She has been eating for England this morning xx

Hi

Good to hear that - the belly's settled then and Connie's well on her way to recovery then! You will notice that the wound will heal quickly, much quicker than you'd think. It's already starting to knit together.

Give your two lovely ladies a cuddle from me! And have a good day yourself.
