Senior Guinea Pig
That's wonderful. Good luck at the vets.
How is she today?
xx
That's really good she has gained weight. Is your vet still considering heart issues?
Thank you for this lovely update, still in our thoughts and I'm soooo pleased to hear that she is doing so well and back to her friends. Keep us post about the vet visit, I will pop on this thread again for that update. This is an amazing story it's one of a shear amount of determination, strength, hope, support and a ton of love. You, your mum, your vet and Helen should feel very proud that you all saved this lovely piggy from something I've read about on here many times, that so often ends in such sadness. A huge well done xHI Everyone
Thank you so much for all your messages and best best wishes. Apologies for no updates for a few days, I have been over in France with work then over to Liverpool again for work yesterday so its been a busy week. Mum has been convalescing Cagney and well all your healing vibes must have helped!
She has put on a little more weight (she has about another 80g to go to get back to normal but that will take time). She is eating hard food, drinking by herself and pretty much back to her usual self. The Fortekor has started to work and she is not going into those deep sleeps she was before although I don't think we are there with the dose yet, she is still a little puffy but nothing like she was. We are back at the vets on Tuesday for a check up so I will discuss then.
Today is a milestone. I have segregated some of the C&C cage in the shed and put her out there. She was so happy to see her friends! They came over and said hello and there was a lot of wheeking! However, she has also made it apparent that there is no way she can go back with Sebastian. As soon as he went to say hello she shrieked and ran away crying. She is utterly petrified of him. So thats made up my mind, I cannot have her like that. So we have to do a cage redesign and she will go in with her sister and Sebastian will have the company of Titch who does not take any of his bullying. Its very sad but thats the way it has to be.
So all in all its amazing news. Those nights sleeping on the sofa with her, my wonderful mum who has cared for her whilst I have been away (Cagney just HAD to time it like that didn't she!?!) my lovely vets who never gave up even when I nearly did. And most of all you guys who have been a pillar of support and Helen who has stuck by me and emailed me and been there when i needed her. You cannot ask for more and I feel like I have some of the best 'virtual' friends on this forum you could have.
So BIG thank you to everyone! Lets hope the story continues to be a successful one! xxxxxx
