COVID-19 Who's had the vaccine?

Just had my invite to be vaccinated (I’m 33). But now I find myself reading lots of horror stories about the vaccines online 😱

I'm 31, had my 1st jab about 2 weeks ago. I had very few side effects. My arm hurt when I put it in certain positions for a day and I felt really hot once a day for like 5ish days after. That was it. I was expecting more.

I'm 33 and had the Oxford/AZ jab. Any issue I had was easy fixed with paracetamol and ibuprofen. It wasn't a pleasant few hours until my fever broke, but absolutely nothing life threatening or massive. Just make sure you're stocked up - paracetamol is excellent for a fever, both paracetamol and ibuprofen would be useful if you've got sore limbs/muscular pain.

I’m feeling ok today. Just tired and a little cold. I’m 39 and had the AstraZeneca. I felt awful after the first vaccination but don’t let that out you off. My parents both had the Pfizer and had no side effects and my in laws both had the AstraZeneca and had no side effects apart from a sore arm and a bit of a headache

Glad you're feeling ok after your second jab Claire xx

Just got my invitation today to book my vaccination. I can book it for the same day my mum has hers (second dose) but I’m hesitant to sign up as I can’t tell if the place does the Pfizer vaccine. She had the AstraZeneca but being younger I’m scared of the blood clot possibility with it.
I'm not sure how to go about requesting the Pfizer.... is there a way to find out what places offer what vaccines?

My partners under 40 and was booked somewhere doing astrazeneca they rang to rearrange :)

That’s nice to know. How did they know it was az?
They find out a few days before, he was booked for the day after they announced they weren't giving to under 40s and he got a phone call to rebook when they had somewhere doing Pfizer available, you can also request to rearrange on the day if you get there and its az 😊

So if I turn up and it’s az I can rebook? I don’t want to be a pain lol But being 30 I really don’t want az if I can have pfizer. Thank you :)

No problems at all, I've actually just seen a tiktok this second (how weird!) that was someone who turned up and it was az and they turned them away at the door and told them to rebook :) I don't think they'll even let you have az as per goveremt advice :) I'm 28 and had both Pfizer I was lucky as it was before the new advice came out!

That’s a big relief to know! That puts my mind at ease a lot. Thank you :)
Ill go ahead and book my appointment then. :)

I've just got back from my second jab. I barely felt the needle this time 👍. Will have to wait and see if I have any side effects later, but I doubt there'll be anything worth worrying about.
They are being very careful to ensure everyone knows the symptoms of a blood clot starting, just in case.

My daughter is one of the younger ones to be done - she had her first Pfizer jab 2 weeks after her 16th birthday.
She gets the second jab next week.
No side effects from the first.

Had mine today at half 2, got the Pfizer. Didn't feel it at all but my arm has recently started feeling like someone's punched it, tentatively waiting to see what else comes 😅
Poor young lad fainted the other side of the room during the 15 minute wait after receiving the jab, hoping hes OK.

Thought I would join in! I'm 39 and had my first jab a couple of weeks ago (Pfizer); no real side effects apart from a very painful arm for about 3-4 days. (Barely felt the needle at all so at least the arm pain showed me something had gone in!) Got my second jab at the end of July.

Just had my 2nd vaccine. :)
Day 2 after vaccine. No side effects apart from a bit tired yesterday and my arm hurts where the needle went in. I'm keeping well hydrated on boring old water so I think that's helping too.

My first jab is booked for Friday 11th June. I'm so nervous! I keep hearing so many horror stories about people getting serious side effects... or worse!

The side effects I had for the first jab were virtually the same as the 2nd except I felt a bit more tired. I took it easy for a couple of days. My OH had a bad head but not so bad he had to take painkillers. He just kept drinking water and tea. Keep well hydrated and stay off the alcohol for 48 hours before and after your jab.

My arm pain has almost gone now, it was very sore and heavy feeling when I woke up and I woke up a couple of times in the night because of it, but nothing massively unbearable.
Other than that I didnt have any other issues, felt a bit sick this morning but that was more because I was hungry after going to bed early, I was a little tired last night.

You only ever hear about the people with side effects.
Boring people like me who don’t get side effects have nothing to say :D
