Will my guinea pig be comfortable sleeping on hay?

Hi! Sorry if this is a silly question but if i stuff the pig igloo with hay, will it be uncomfortable for my pig? I use linen and sawdust bedding and I’ve always stuffed the igloo with hay but it seems really scratchy to me? Will he be uncomfortable sleeping with hay in the igloo, should I just keep it outside for him?

He will be absolutely fine on soft meadow hay. Mine are bedded fully on hay in the entire hutch. You just want to make sure you are using soft meadow hay for bedding. If it feels sharp at all, then trying a different hay brand may help.

My boys live in my shed and their entire hutch is filled about a foot deep of meadow hay, they love snuggling up in it

It should be fine as long as it isn’t sharp. I would give them some space in the cage with no hay though

i have my cages packed with hay to keep the pigs warm and i’ve never had any problems with it!

It’s good to check if you aren’t sure but being bedded entirely on hay is absolutely fine for them. You don’t need to leave any areas free of hay if you don’t want to, in fact if your piggies live outside, then being completely stuffed with hay is best for warmth.

They usually choose to sleep in a big pile of hay in their hay trays

Mine also often sleep in the haytrays on soft meadow hay or sometimes even on the hayroom floor in scratchy timothy which can't be at all comfortable, even though they have 3 fleecy beds and 3 wooden houses with fleecy pads in to choose from!
