Worst Experience Of My Life In Vets!

I just know there going to deny deny deny so I'm gathering a timeline:

I've got screen shots of me calling the taxi: 9.36am

Phoneing the vet: 9.37

Txt from taxi when he was outside: 9.45

Txt to my freind: 9.55 "there making me wait can you believe that?"

A photo in the vets of blood on my finger from her nose (forgot about that)

10.27 am "she's dying and their not doing anything!"

11.50 "had to walkout and literally run to the other vet"

Also taken photos of my blood stained jumper I had her wrapped up in in the first vet.

I've just been reading through these threads and I'm so sorry for your loss. She sure was a cute little piggy. I'd be tempted to threaten them with a deadline for a response, the local radio station and the local papers along with whatever bodies they are registered with. They might get their act together then. :rant:

Maybe on the vet locator on here we should add ones we've had bad experiences with too - just a thought

I've given them to the weekend address all points OR confirm they are or least working on it and how long they antipathetic the response will be.

If they don't I will be making her life very very difficult...

This reeks of a negligence claim;

Primary victim; caparo test applies

1. Did the defendant owe a duty of care?

Yep, occupiers liability 1957

2. Was there a breach of that duty?

Dam right there was.

3. Did the breach cause loss or damage?

Not sleeping and flashbacks is sufficient for nervous shock, nervous shock is sufficient for psychological damage. Psychological damage is sufficient for the purposes of negligence.

This is such an awful thing to go through and I am very sorry for your loss. I hope that you can get them to face up to the way they treated Rosie and yourself! Nobody or animal such suffer this way...I have a feeling that if this was another creature, say a cat or dog they may have been treated faster. I sometimes think that people don't think of pigs on the same level as other pets, I really do. Again, good luck bringing them to justice.

The second vet said exactly that "if they had a dog convulsing and bleeding they wouldn't of waited.."

GGGGRRRRRR that is just disgusting! I am horrified that a vet, whom is meant to not only administer care to animals of all kinds should also have a love of them too. Why else would you do that job? Dear me, you are very strong for fighting this (as you have a right to for Rosie) and I hope they get what they deserve.

I'm worrying about rosies sister pixie. They've never been apart there entire lives. Shes barely moved from there bed since Rosie left. Shes still eating and hasn't lost any weight but looks very sad.
 
I can't help with that but there is a thread on here in the behaviour and bonding section on how to deal with a bereaved piggy. I don't know how to do the link, sorry xx
 
Shes still living with steve (they were a trio) but has never shown much interest in him. I Might run her to the vets tomorrow to be sure and then see how she is with the group of four girls.
 
Would that leave Steve on his own?

Good idea to get her checked out. Will you be using Vets 4 Pets from now on?

Havnt decided yet, I'm not keen on the idea of using a vet owned by pets at home. Ive registered with a different one that I have spoken to and have been assured they are exotics and piggy savvy. Its 30 min away on the bus though so I think id have to use the nearest one aka vets 4 pets in emergencies.

I might try both pixie and steve with the four girls. Their in the big cage with three levels. I'm sure steve will be pleased living with 5 women!

The only other option is to get another girl.
 
Just had dirty looks on the bus off two nurses from the vets.Very professional .
