hi!

i’ve got a new baby guinea pig, i’ve had her around just over a month now and she is around 10-12 weeks old i want to say? she is very cute and cuddly, so when having my cuddles in the evening with her, i was about to put her back in the cage and she jumped from my arms onto the floor. she sort of landed on her side but quickly stood up and ran to hide, so i can’t really tell how she landed properly or that makes sense and what impact it caused? she ran under a shelf and when i grabbed her she seemed to have cut her lip open a little bit. its bled ever so slightly which i wiped up. she was really shocked and silent at the start considering she’s extremely vocal, but it’s been around half an hour and she’s interacting with the others, eating drinking and pooping normally. my older sow has a vet appointment for her eyes tomorrow so i’m wondering if i should bring the baby for a piece of mind.

but i am a victim to asking ai every single thing and they are worrying me about the baby! should i be concerned about anything even though she is acting completely fine? i just feel so bad

i have also given her a tiny bit of metacam just to help the lip cut for tonight for a piece of mind too

I'd certainly take her with you tomorrow to the vet's. If she’s cut her lip, maybe she’s damaged a tooth as well. They'll be able to check her all over, they know what to feel for.

Guinea pigs are good at hiding pain or other health problems.

I hope she will be alright.

Poor girl and poor you, rather scary. Yes, a vet exam is a good idea. She may have damaged teeth or a fracture. It is better to handle very wriggly piggies while sitting down and to use a tunnel or tube to carry them if they are very skittish. Hopefully she will be fine though. I hope everything will be OK 🙏♥️
