Hi!
I have 2 boars living in a 6ft*2ft c&c with an extra 2ft*2ft to make it an L shape (total 16 square ft). They’re both around 8 months old.
Today in my local pet shop I saw they have a lone boar (looked small so about 2 months I’d assume) who I instantly fell in love with. I know it can be difficult to bond boars especially bringing in one at a late stage, but I was wondering if people think this would be possible?
I’d love to be able to go and pick him up tomorrow but obviously I don’t want to do it if it’s going to be totally unrealistic to get him to bond with my current 2. I’ve researched a lot about how to bond groups so I feel confident on how to go about it.
Basically, my question is, do you think the ages would be an issue? And do you think the space would be enough?
Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome!

Please don't try to bond two teenagers at one of the most tricky ages with a baby boy; that is a recipe for disaster! The more sub-adults in a boar trio the more likely you are to end up with failure; the chances of ending up with three singles are about as high as getting a successful bond. The vast majority will end up with a split (about 80%) with a single and a pair. Those are not the kind of odds you want risk?
Bonding two boar pairs to form has an even higher fail rate by the way! Boars are best kept in pairs or in larger bachelor herds with a lot more space. :(

You can find more information that will answer all your questions in detail in the following guides:

I am sorry that I don't have better news for you. The recommended space for two boars is 2x5 grids.
