Oh dear I have seen a lone female piggy in the free ads... what should I do? I dont want to disrupt my happy herd bonds with an outsider but we do have space for an extra lady pig... Theo says he has space in his diary for lots of extra ladies, but only 1 more would fit in the cage...

I just wouldnt want to upset my lovely floof Jezebel, she's often a bit nervous of the other piggies... but then sometimes if the others pair off and Theo is romancing Puggle, while mad Piggle and chunky Clover are playing a bit rough, I think she gets a bit left out...

I know exactly what you mean...... Technically, I have space for one more but my pair, Reuben and Darling have such a close bond .... And Reuben has had so many health problems, I don't think it is worth risking upsetting them.

Think positive it could be the best move you ever made 😉 aslong as it doesnt cause a permanent upset if things dont work out

Really can't decide... I think nobody wants her because she has bright red eyes...

Choose heads or tales, flip a coin. If the result is the opposite to what you chose and you feel dissapointed, you know you want to get her.

It is a difficult decision - on one hand you want to help the lonely lady in the ad, but is it worth the risk of unsettling your group? Personally, I wouldn’t want to take that chance. You have a lovely herd that gets on so well.
But, I would also be plotting where I put this lady and keep her separate from the herd and then get her her own friend and keep a separate pair!

It could work well timing wise because my piggies are having (overly paranoid) mite treatment with their last treatment on sunday then 2 more weeks to go, and then I'll be changing up the cage and adding more winter furniture, so if we picked up Lucy Lettuce as I plan to call her then she could have her quarantine and vet check and possibly join in the last round of mite treatment then join the gang at the end of november... probably shouldnt have thought of a name there yet it sounds like I've convinced myself already!

She who dares wins!

I would like Jezebel to not be the odd pig out so much, she's happy enough but not in the favorite wife club or top sow plus sidekick club... not sure if an extra piggy would be a nice friend or make her anxious!

Write down a list of pros and cons see what wins

Might just leave it to piggy daddy to decide, tell him that's his birthday present... he would like a mega-herd of 20 running all over the house but until he learns to operate the vacuum cleaner and can pay the vet bills and food bills we can squeeze in 1 more piggy (or if bonding with the herd really doesnt work, possibly 2...)

With my recent bonding failure my question is, what would you do if it didn't work out? Luckily I had enough room to squeeze in another cage in my piggy room. Best of luck with your decision!

I like a nice round even number so there is no piggy left out and I'm a sucker for a sob story. Lily was a damaged pets at home piggy with lovely white half aby hair and red eyes and she was squealing in terror so of course I went home with her

Yeah thats it, poor Jezzy floof is left out a bit in the herd and also gets nibbled sometimes like a novelty circus act for being floofy... I think a junior semi-floof might be her friend? Or it will all backfire terribly and I will have to get an extra piggy and have an extra cage and Jezzy will be even more anxious! Piggy daddy is convinced anyway, he's off on a piggy rescue mission... she's a welsh piggy which helped convince him!

Lets see what happens! Piggy daddy has the car and the address so lets see how it goes. There are a few alarm bells with this piggy like being given 2 different ages... and she's alone but was somehow part of a big group... and she has "pedigree genes" but looks like the back end of a bus... but all these things make me just want to bring her home if she really exists and feed her some nice veggies and set her up in the spare cage then take her to the vet and see what the problem is, if any- I suspect a breeder has offloaded her somewhere along the line for being a bit weird looking and not pretty enough to breed from... if she does exist and come home then hopefully she'll fit right in with my beautiful herd of cross-eyed Piggle and ratty-faced Theo and monster-chops wonky-leg Clover and bloaty skinny Puggle and curly toenailed barbered floofy wee pants Jezebel! Who are all very beautiful but thank goodness nobody would ever want to breed from them as they are all just too unique looking :)
