Occasionally, I check both my guinea pig's bottoms because in the past, if they don't eat enough hay they will experience impaction. So every week I check to make sure they're good and they're not experiencing impaction. Recently, I checked Cookie's bottom to make sure he's okay. He wasn't experiencing impaction. However, above his poop hole he has dried leftover poop and hair mixed in together to the point where it kind of turned into a ball. So I grabbed some gloves and pushed it out, but there is still a remainder left over but it's so dried up, it's not as easy to take it out. He has long hair so I can understand how it's stuck up there. Is there any way that I could possibly get it out of there? (He's also acting very normal. He's eating fine, pooping and peeing well, drinking his water)

Maybe a gentle, warm bath to ease the rest out? Then a little hair trim around the area. I recently posted about my Angus who's long hair curled right up into his bum/dinkle. Oh, the glamour!

It's best to check bums daily to avoid this build up.

Try some warm water, or if it is still stuck inside, a bit of olive or similar oil to ease it out.
