I've just ordered some fleece cage liners (the waterproof kind) and some fleece beds and pockets/cosies/hideys, do I start by introducing the fleece cage liners first and continue to let them use their plastic igloo (changing it because it takes up too much room in their cage) or the other way around (cosies first then fleece liners) or shall I just do it all at once? I don't want to startle them with too much change :hmm:

When I changed my boars over to fleece from shavings I left all the hides and log tunnels the same unwashed for a week. I also put some used shavings in a cat litter tray under their hay so that they could still smell themselves in the cage and it wasn't all strange.

I must admit I just changed everything over, they loved it. They don't have fleece cosies etc in summer as our house is an oven so they have their wooden houses etc to stay cooler, but in winter they get fleece hides etc.

my two sows knew the fleece all at once when they came home after adoption and they immediately appreciated everything. I don't even know what kind of cage they had had before...

Before mine came to me they had lived on shavings. When I got them, I put them straight into the cage with fleece. They didn't seem bothered at all.

At the rescue mine were not on fleece. They took to it just fine.

I interchange the bedding weekly, sometimes i use aubiose throughout the 6 x 2 cage, the following weel i use fleece liners,i have a 2x2 loft that always has bedding and hay in.they seem to like both !
