Love to you both today, hope all goes ok x

You are all so kind ") thank you indeed.

Just waiting to get a call from the vets. They said they would probably do it around mid day-ish. Just hoping I can have him home again with me and Sprout.

Not heard anything yet. I've been told no news is good news with vets. I hope so :( If they don't ring by 4 or 5ish I will give them one to see what's going on.

I phoned them up. He is currently recovering from the op. He has had a drink but no food as of yet. They are going to keep him in over night and are going to try syringe feeding him.

Hope he has a good night & feels brighter in the morning xx

Wishing the little man a speedy recovery, have you been to see him ?. When mine have had an overnight stay I've gone to see them and take a lunch box full of their favourite nibbles.

I haven't been able to but that is a nice idea. She said I can call anytime to check on how he is doing

I did this with my two boys when they went in to be neutered - i packed them a lunchbox full of all their favourite veg/hay and pellets - best thing to get a guinea pig eating is all their favourite foods ;)

Sending healing vibes to McMac x>>

glad to hear the op went well. sending lots of vibes for a speedy recovery. x

I've been doing this with Maggie too, not that she's eaten any of it! I even took fresh grass and dandelions!

Pleased to hear the op went well, hopefully you'll have your little boy back in no time. Lots of healing vibes to him x

Hope he has a comfortable night and is home with you and Sprout soon.

he can come home today! :) :)

they said he was doing really well and everything. the bill comes to £174 with the xray and everything which isnt as bad as I thought it might be. mum and george are going to try splitting it between them. I am so thankful as I have £4 in my bank at the moment. cant wait to get him home. hopefully sprout wont be too much of a nussience while he is trying to recover

YAY - WELL DONE McMAC :laluot_15:
I'm thrilled for you both and bet you cannot wait to see him again.
With some good post op care, he should be bouncing around within a couple of days :))
More hugs and loads of healing vibes on their way again :)p

Awwww thats great he is allowed home......lots of cuddles and TLC for your little guy for the next few days. :)

got to try and keep him as comfy as possible and make sure he doesnt exert himself with sprout. do you think he will have stitches and stuff? it will probably be a bit upsetting seeing him like that but I'm jusy glad hes gotten through it :) hopefully he should heal up fine and this will all be behind us

I certainly expect McMac to have stitches. They are usually dissolvable ones so will dissolve with in a certain amount of time. He will also be shaved on the area they entered to remove the stones. Expect him to look something like this:

This is my Connie (RIP) just after she'd had surgery. The photo isn't very clear but she had been shaved as well as having dissolvable stitches and glue.

Congratulations :)
Keep up the good work, glad he's coming home. Healing vibes from me & the girls. x

Here it is.

He is home, currently resting up in a hidey. He is very active considering what he's been through. Probably the pain killers helping him out. Sprout was very excited to see him and wile I was changing the fleece and McMac was sat in the carrier Sprout kept squeaking and stuff :)
His belly has been shaved and there is a scar on his belly, just like yours Claire. It's nice and clean and not as shocking as I expected.
I have Metacam and Ranitidine for him
Taking him back for a check up on Saturday.
