McMac is at the vets

Am so pleased he is home and doing well. That stone is big, must have been so painful.
 
He is doing alright :) Nibbling on some food and resting. Sprout is being very well behaved and not disturbing him.

The vet said to try splitting the cage so that I can monitor McMac's eating etc but the last time I tried to split the cage with grids Sprout forced his way through them and wouldn't stop at anything to get to the other side rolleyes Wondering what I ought to do
 
How lovely he is home with you both now. Little Sprout sounds so happy to have his friend back.
 
As long as McMac is not bothered by Sprout I would leave them together. If he's distressed by Sprout then you will have to think again. Lovely that you have McMac home & surgery went well. I'm sure he's more comfortable without that nasty-looking stone!

I would monitor his weight daily, that's also a good indicator of how well he's eating.

Keep getting better McMac :)
 
He doesn't seem too bothered by him by the looks of things :) I will see how they do tonight. Sprout is mainly busy eating I think rolleyes

I will get the scales out :)

Also, the label of dosage on the Metacam says give it to him with food. But not sure how to make him eat unless I give him some veg or syringe feed him. Or do I not need to worry too much

Give him some veg, when he's eaten that, syringe it into his mouth. It's more for dogs and cats but it would be goo to get it in him on a full stomach
 
Glad to hear he is doing well. He'll love his metacams don't you worry. Piggies seem to love the taste... Little Junkies :))
 
Just caught up on this! What a worry but thats so brill hé had come through and is recovering, so pleased for you. Lots of live and healing vibes to mcmac x
 
Just got back from college, he is doing really well :) Gave him some Basil along with his Metacam and he gobbled it all up. He is pooping, they are smaller and darker then usual, but still better then nothing. He is probably getting back into the flow of eating more.

His wound is still looking good. Not red or sore looking

Still doing good today :) His scar is still looking good so hopefully he hasn't been licking at it too much or anything.

He is very active when he is up and about but is still resting as much as he can. Sprout is being well behaved around him too. Although he will steal any bit of veg off of McMac if he doesn't eat it quickly enough rolleyes

Just seen him nibbling on a bit if hay. Hopefully as he heals his eating habits will come back to normal

Hey umm I just pulled something really wierd out of McMac's penis :S

I was giving him his Metacam and went to check his wound and I saw some strange dark yellow thing sticking out of his penis. I touched it and it felt hard so I was worried it might have been some bits of stone or something he had eventually managed to work along his urethra.

I went to pull it out, thinking it was just a big piece of sand and a whole 'tail' came out with it :S

I will upload a picture of it. It look like one of those bean sprouts you use in stir fries!

At the end you can see it is slightly darker and that is what was sticking out slightly.
 
I think it is one, hoping someone with boars may be able to let you know for sure.
