Hi, I wanted to see if there was any advice anyone could give on taking my piggies with me to the UK, I’m moving there soon to be with my husband and I’m not sure the best way to go about it. I love them and don’t want to rehome them as I’ve only just started gaining their trust and they are family. Any advice would be amazing

If you have a search, there is a thread where someone moved to Canada. I think it was from here. You’d have to check with the airline whether they’d allow them on as cabin passengers. If big then you’d have to find a company that could transport them here. Good luck with the move!

Thankfully they are still relatively small so it may make the journey a little easier thank you! :)

You will need to check with our government department DEFRA and the equivalent US department to see what rules and regulations apply to the import/export of piggies. They will need to travel in an approved carrier in the hold (separate to general luggage). Your vet should be able to give you some advice and point you in the right direction.

What I would add is prepare to find the process complex, expensive and also ultimately not possible.
There are very few carriers that will transport live animals in the cabin these days, so it is likely they would have to go as cargo.
But please speak to your vet - they should be able to get you the necessary information and advise whether it is even possible.
