Need advice on bedding

So this may actually be in the wrong section.

But I wants some advice from those who use paper based bedding, I.e carefresh.

To sum up, I've been using fleece for quite some time now, and I love it, that is when Honeys poops are normal. As some of you may know I have an ongoing battle with honey and soft poops and I cleaned the fleece bedding only yesterday and by this morning it looks like it's been a week at least!

The issue is her standing in them and spreading them across the cage. So the little poop prints quickly cover the cage what with her and Willow.

Obviously with fleece, everything just sits on top, but now I'm considering if I changed to paper bedding just for Honey and Willows cage, maybe the poops would almost distribute through the layer of bedding and then prevent them standing it everywhere.

Do my thoughts sound logical?

Looking to find anyone that uses paper based bedding and what they think of it.

I have paper bedding in my piggies 2-floor hutch and fleece on the attached run. My piggies prefer to sleep in the hutch (regardless if it's day or night) hence the paper bedding. I can say it's good when your piggy have the occasional soft poo (my Prince do tend to have it when he spend eating loads of cucumber), but it still won't always give you a clean cage or piggy. It would still have poop stuck in their feet and such. But comparing it to the fleece, yes it's better and easier to clean. I have to do a pee/poop clean every morning though (replace the soaked one with new paper bedding). That's why I need around 20kg of paper bedding a month. It tends to get used up quickly.
 
I use carefresh for my hamster and noticed the bars on the cage get super dusty.

So it may upset the piggys
 
We have Kaytee clean and cosy paper bedding in half our cage and its very soft and absorbent. I think it would work well for a piggy with soft poops. If it wasnt so expensive and made so much waste we'd probably have it everywhere as it seems very hygienic compared to fleece.
Poor Honey she's had a very prolonged tummy problem, I hope it clears up soon!

Thank you for your response, the cleaning out the dirty patches each morning wouldn't really bother me as I have to do this for fleece anyway, would just be a slight hangs in the morning routine I guess. I may just give it a go. I use it already for my Syrian so even if it didn't get used for the pigs, ultimately it would be used for Nala. The amount I use would be something I'd have to work out. It would be more expensive but it's if works better it may be worth the extra. Thanks again.

This is the one I use for Nala so it won't go to waste if I don't end up using it for the pigs. I guess all I can do is give it a go. I guess I'm hoping that maybe the poops would be a little more buried rather than just sitting on top how they do with fleece. And yeah she has :( in the new year I think I'm going to take her back to see Kate. I'm not overly concerned as she's maintaining weight and slowly gaining little amounts, she's also bright in herself so I don't think she's in discomfort. If anything she's probably still relieved she doesn't have those huge cysts in her no more.

I always used to use wood shavings but when my old boar Sam was diagnosed with very bad arthritis my vet recommended vet bed so now I use that and fleece but I always found with wood shavings it helped hide the poops lol.
 
you could always section part of the cage and have a kitchen area !use fitch,carefresh,finacard cardboard bedding.i use this in my c and c cages in the winter,as i can still use fleece hides without it sticking to it.the poops all mingle to the bottom of the bedding,they are camoflaged into the brown cardboard !:)) I found keeping up with the fleece liner washing a pain in the cooler months,but i do have 11 cages !:):)
