Aww mate thats a shame, I'm sorry, but i hope your piggies are helping.

I just did the wee test. Ive been looking at the results and trying to work it out. Its so hard to do it and check them in the timescales, so ive done three so far...luckily Oscar did a huuuuuuge pee! lol

I think:

Glucose isnt neg its the next one along 100/5
Bilirubin neg
ketone neg
sg neg
blood Large +++
ph 8.5
protein neg
urob normal
nitrite neg
leukocytes trace

:{

They are different sticks to what I use but the blood & SG are not what would be classed as normal. I wouldn't worry too much about the glucose if it's only slightly above negative, I think you would be best to take a sample to the vets & see what they say xx

Thank you hon i will do. Like i say it was difficult to check them all within the timescale, so i might just try again tomorrow with the problem ones.

Thanks so much for all your advice when you arent well x

What do you mean by timescale hun? Is it the minutes for each result - if so that means the result will be ready in that time - ie protein 1 min - correct reading will be visible after 1 minute.
No worries at all - it keeps me from feeling sorry for myself :p

well yes, but because i was trying to read the leaflet and look at the colour chart I'm not sure if it was more like 10 mins lolol

right, ive tested his wee wee again using the times quoted on the tub.

glucose is 100/5
Bilirubin is neg
ketone is neg
sg is in between 1.05/1.10
blood is neg
ph is 8.5
protein is neg
urobilinogen is normal
nitrite is neg
leukocytes is neg

thank you.

Sorry little Oscar is not well :( I would def get him to a vet, Karina...I have never known of any other reason for glucose being in urine, other than diabetes...it would explain the weight loss, too...as rather than his body using the food he eats as energy, he can't convert it into usable energy as he has inadequate amounts of insulin...hence the sugar just comes straight out of him and shows up in the urine. I hope I am wrong, but I have never known a non diabetic patient to show glucose in their urine...I know that I'm a nurse for humans, not animals, but it's the same concept...unless the sample is somehow contaminated?

I've not read the entire thread, but steroids can sometimes cause diabetic symptoms for the duration of the treatment. Not sure if he has had any?

Hope he gets better soon X

oh interesting, well i will be taking a sample into the vets this week so watch this space.

Awwww he might be like his nanna lol

Hope little Oscar is alright. Yeah, best bet is to get the vet to do a sample.

Fingers crossed it's nothing serious and he's just being a menace and stressing you out for no reason!

x

ha ha you know what Cat I'm seriously ok with it all because he just seems so normal, I'm absolutely amazed at him.

Oh heck just catching up on Oscar...... good to hear he's noming away, but sorry to hear about the glucose being present!
To be ultra conservative i'd take out all sugary foods e.g. carrots, corn
I"ll be thinking of you both Karina x>>x>>x>>x>>x>>

i rang the vets this morning about taking a sample in, i really wish i hadnt bothered i felt like i was being a right pain in the bottom. They were not friendly at all, ive never had that before, dont know what to do now. Maybe i need to change vets rolleyes

Just catching up on Oscar's thread. We found blood again with Cookie yesterday.. A week after her suspected uti.. We tested her wee and it shows glucose present also. We went to vet today and our vet who said that some really stubborn uti's may display glucose. We have another 7 days of ani-biotics hen will be looking at diabeties....

Hope the vet trip gives you some answers, love to you both x

That's annoying, they should be happy you are interested in your pets welfare... A good vets is worth their weight in gold...maybe you just had a annoying receptionist like at the doctors...

Oh no, poor Cookie, well fingers crossed it is Uti and not diabetes.

Thank you for your thoughts, Oscar sends a big kiss.

Hope your house move went well and you are all settled xx

No net or tv yet but House is lovely, thanks. Will keep logging on for updates on Oscar. Lots of healing vibes his way x x

Sorry to hear your vets are less than supportive ( or is it like Sport Billy said and just an annoyed receptionist?). More vibes for Oscar :laluot_29::laluot_29::laluot_29:
