My 6 week old female piggy has a dry area on her ear and a little rash looking area behind her ear. She lives in a 3 story 100 guinea pig cage with another guinea pig from the same breeder that is 5 weeks old. I got them together a week ago.
They have displayed what I would consider normal behaviour when establishing dominance. This I have learnt from YouTube, so I am still more than happy to learn more. These are my first pigs as an adult.
I don’t know if Mavis has a little battle wound or if she has some dry skin condition.
Any advice welcome.
Thank you

Welcome to the Forum.
:wel:

It would be a good idea to take your girls along to a vet to be checked, as sore, dry patches can be the early signs of ringworm.
Hopefully this is not the case, but you might want to have a read of this thread and start taking precautions when handling your piggies.
Ringworm: Hygiene And Pictures

Hopefully it can be sorted out quickly and you can get on with enjoying your new piggies.

Hi! Please have your girls seen for ringworm if they are newly bought. If this is less than two weeks since the sale, exposure and infection has happened at the breeder or shop. With a shop, you can reclaim the vet cost by rpresenting the sales receipt together with the vet bill. You may find this harder with a backyard breeder, but you are still within your rights to report them to your local council and the RSPCA over selling infected animals to unsuspected customers.

Please be careful when handling and invest in a good anti-fungal disinfectant - the common brands are only anti-bacterial. Ringworm is the single most infective and transmittable issue between all mammals, including humans! The tips in our guide have been learned the hard way. That is why they actually work! Hiya. I don't have any experience with ringworm I'm afraid. But welcome to the forum and let us know how your 2 lovely girls get on. xx

Looks to me like it could be fungal... definitely worth a visit to get it assessed before it spreads (either over more surface area on her or to you or her companion!)
