Hi!
Yesterday my two baby sows started being a bit tense aorund each other. They are still bonding, as we only got them 3 weeks ago. There's been some power shifting since, as one of them had problems with a leg when we got them, and the other one, initially dominant, turned out to be ill and lost weight. Coco, initially submissive, is now turning into a very dominant and mean piggie! (Well, at least that's how it looks like from outside :) )
So last evening, Peach started rumbling every time Coco went around her, and Coco chased her and tried to mount her quite agressively for the rest of the night (woke me up hourly) I have read this is normal behaviour, but it worries me loads. Especially since not even our vet could 100% confirm they are both sows. I decided to take another look at Coco's genitals this morning and slightly pressed on her side to see if anything comes out :) but nothing does. Except I noticed some clear sticky discharge coming out of her genitals. I am not sure what to make of all this. Is she being dominant? Is she just in season? Is the discharge normal?

They are just displaying normal dominant behaviour but there shouldn’t be a discharge. Are you sure it wasn’t urine?

Pretty sure it wasn't urine as it was sticky...There was aspen stuck to her genitals, so I picked it up and that's how I noticed a trail of discharge

In that case, I would be inclined to have her checked over by the vet just to be on the safe side
Thank you,

Both our girls have been seen by vet twice now (consequences of getting them from a bad breeder). Peach just finished a course of antibiotics and they are both taking Vitamin C supplements because they are suspected to have scurvy. I will be monitoring Coco's situation closely, and wait until the vitamin C course is over (in a couple of days) as we have to take Peach back for a check anyways :). Thank you for your advice.
