Ok so we just had a text message reminder from the vet... Theo has an appointment at 8.40am tomorrow when he's off to be neutered/visited by the plum fairy!
I am terrified (especially since my mad mother just phoned in tears and asked me to send her a photo of Theo to remember him by? Like, thanks mum for spreading your depressive mental illness all over my pets...).
But even if the worst happens then I keep telling myself that Theo has had the happiest 4 weeks of his life with us. Here's a list of things Theo likes that he never knew existed a month ago:
Timothy hay (not cheap mouldy meadow hay)
Carrot cottages
Woven grass hidey tubes
Hay cubes
Rosewood treat bars
Watermelon
Coriander and parsley
Hutches
Playpens
Other guinea pigs
Lady guinea pigs, especially gorgeous redheads who lick him all over while he's taking a nap
Humans who dont shout at him and dont leave him on his own for 23 and a half hours a day
Cages that get cleaned every day no matter how much you poop in them

Once Theo finishes his watermelon snack I am going to cuddle him a lot and give him a final pre-op weigh-in before attempting to photograph his amazing stripy pants in all their glory before the vet modifies them...

Best wishes Theo!
His stripy pants will still be there, just not hairy 😉
Squeaks has 5 days to go until his date with the plum fairy ✂️✂️

Well Theo definitely didnt want to show off his stripy pants to anyone but Puggle but here's a few blurry action shots! Theo has a white lightening bolt marking over his willy and downwards which is quite dramatic but he's very shy about it :) he'll have to get used to having his boy bits examined regularly for the next few days though...

Here he is running away from me looking at his boy bits and hiding on my shoulder. The rear view is still impressively stripy though :)
Theo weighs in at 680g which is 30g more than last Thursday and 200g more than his first vet check 4 weeks ago. Definitely enough Theo to survive the anaesthetic I hope!

Here are Theo's ladies, who are waiting to move in with him 6 weeks post-op, when they get their big 2-floor piggy mansion to live in.
Lady Puggle is the gorgeous redhead who adores Theo and licks him and makes cooing noises at him when he takes a nap near the playpen bars.
Lady Piggle is the beige-and-himalayan mix piggy who has different coloured eyes and ears on each side who likes chatting to Theo but doesnt have a major love interest (she prefers being humped by Puggle, and lets her pee on her when she is in season, which is why her fur looks so scruffy!)

I have just shown Velvet, Meg and Betsy Theo's stripy pants and they were most impressed! :)) Meg liked his lightening bolt willy:sly: and I won't put on a public forum what she said! :yikes: She is the timid and shy one too but they do say the shy one's are the worst! I told her off good and proper and told her that young ladies don't say such things! She has now apologised cos I said if she didn't be-have I was not getting her favourite veg next week.:( She has now gone off in a huff.:jel:

Now that I have finished telling off Meg you can send Theo off to the vet feeling confident that Christian and Dennis have visited the plum fairy and come out the otherside plumless but very happy! Good luck Mr Stripy Pants you'll be fine!

Good luck Mr Stripy Pants I'm sure you'll be fine! Just think in 6 weeks you'll have 2 wifelets.:love::sly::cool:

Thanks everyone for all the support!
Just dropped Theo off with the vet. She's a lovely lady who clearly knows what she's doing, and Theo likes her (he was quite happy to show Dr Bartram his special stripy bits :) )

The girls wonder where he is! I just put them in the playpen and they are both ignoring the parsley and sitting in Theo's favorite hidey tube... I'm just waiting for the vet to phone, should be anytime soon...

A nice vet nurse just phoned, Theo has been visited by the plum fairy and has woken up from his anaesthetic and he's about to have a syringe feed. Once he's eaten some solid food later on out of the packed lunch I made him he should be able to come home :)

Great news. I was so worried when we had Ginger neutered that i nearly changed my mind when i had to leave him with the vet.
Glad i did though as he is very happy with Dora.

Great news! Don't forget to make sure he comes over with pain relief for home. Sending recovery vibes

One of my boys is off to the vets on Wednesday for his ‘plums’ removing. I’m watching your post with interest as you will be a couple of days ahead of me. Let’s hope everything goes well for both our boys!
