Hi, I’m just wondering what veggies you feed your piggies? I’m in the uk and I want to give my guinea pigs more a variety of veg.
The things I feed them are:
Romaine, cabbage, kale, cucumber, carrots, peppers, green beans, baby corn, gem lettuce, coriander, fruit (twice a week) and sometimes corn on the cob. I spread this out during the week obviously, I don’t give them all that everyday but I was just wondering if their veggies have enough variety or if I should introduce them to new things? What do you guys think? Thanks 👍

That's a good variety!
We tend to feed what we will eat just to avoid waste and spread the cost.

Our piggies have been enjoying watermelon this week as a treat, mainly the rind..occasional bit of fresh beetroot, parsley tried a tiny bit of basil, its quite aromatic so was cautious, most of it went into the pasta. Ours go mad for celery, especially the leafy bits and the heart! They prefer that over pepper..good on them..a bit of baby spinach for a treat goes down well. The salad mix from lidl has chard.
Just be mindful of carrots, beetroot and corn and treat them as fruit as they are high in sugars. I tend to be sparing with veggies these days, sometimes I forget 80% of the diet should be hay, hay and more hay and of course a little handful of good quality pellets each day.
I think you are doing well for variety xx

I’d say cut fruit, carrots and corn to an occasional treat. They’re high in sugar Kale and cabbage I think can be done twice a week. Otherwise it looks good.the link above is a good resource.
