Oh I don’t know. I’m fairly confident my teen won’t pee down the slide just because I’ve said it’s home time... (that was a parenting high point 😂😂😂)

It will pass. It doesn't seem it at the time and hurts like hell when your teenager tells you to "go away" but slightly more rude than that when you have never used such bad language in front of them. My old neighbour was always round my house complaining about her daughter. I got so frustrated with my sons that all I could do was love them.
 
I went to soft play today! It didn't feel very covid safe and I kind of wish I didn't go but the kids loved it and it was nice to not have to worry about balls 😂😂🤣🤣

Thank you, it's just tricky at the moment, he doesn't see that if he doesn't put the work in at school he'll get no where. He has end of year exams next week and there is a distinct lack of revision, I'm hoping if he does badly it might make him think but there a risk it will make no difference ☹️ they don't put this but in the parenting books!

It's been a difficult time for school age children this past year. No school for months and having to put up with parents homeschooling them, missing friends, feeling fed up, bored and frustrated. Nowhere to go except for an hour's walk which is quite frankly very boring if you're a teenager cos you can only go either on your own or with your family and you want to see your friends but can't.

Absolutely a difficult time for them, I was lucky I could send him in as I'm a key worker otherwise I think we'd be even further behind, working at home just doesn't work for him, I'm just slightly disappointed with school too but we're working on that. Also growing up with all this tech I didn't have is a juggling act, life is not inside the screen😡

I can laugh about it now. At the time, well not so much 😂

The school thing is hard. Mine get bored of me banging on about choices. The more effort they put in then the more choices they have in life. I've no idea where they are post lockdown the school has been rubbish at communicating. I jus hope it all works out in the end.

I had an email from my GP surgery asking me to book my 2nd dose. I booked it already, when I booked for the first dose at the local big vaccination centre, so I don't quite know why they're asking me to book. I don't want to change it as it's quite soon anyway (1st June) and I'm busy keeping my son working on his post-GCSE stuff.

Just had my invite to be vaccinated (I’m 33). But now I find myself reading lots of horror stories about the vaccines online 😱

Stop reading! The chances of something awful happening are small, compared to getting covid and the implications from that.
I had my vaccine last Friday and thankfully I had no real side effects, my arm hurt for around 36 hours, it felt heavy and the day after I just felt out of sorts and tired, I was fully prepared to have an awful weekend but I was ok. (I'm about to turn 43 🤦‍♀️)

i had my vaccination just over a week ago. I was also prepared for side effects but other than a sore arm (about two days of being sore to touch and then it stopped hurting as quickly as it started), I was absolutely fine (I'm 39)

I hate facebook, I feel life isn't always real there.
My colleagues have had the vaccine and we've all had different experiences, ranging from swollen, sore arm, to headache and tiredness to in bed for 24hrs and me with barely any side effects, I personally felt the benefits out weighed the risk, I feel more comfortable to visit my dad now, he had a stroke a couple of years ago and his wife has had breast cancer so I don't want to unwittingly take anything to them as they don't go out and about much.
 
The amount of medical specialists on Facebook unwilling to share their vast knowledge beyond "do your research!" and who have somehow managed to get through medical school without even a basic understanding of statistics is incredible :roll:

And unfortunately it's a safe bet you're not the only one. Misinformation epidemics like this could be as harmful as the virus in its own way.

I'm 58 and have had both jabs. First one, no side effects at all. Second one, sore arm for a few days.

Stay away from Social Media!

It's like they say, no news is good news. Folk only tell others when there is a problem, not when things have gone to plan. Nearly 40 million people have been vaccinated, there's only been a handful of deaths which may be linked to being vaccinated. A tiny fraction have had serious side effects, which hopefully have been reported so researchers can look at why. But the overwhelmingly positive side that the anti vax numpties leave out is that infection numbers are way down and very few dying of it, thank God!

My hospital posts it's figures and at the peak had about 300 patients with over 100 in ITU. Today there are no covid patients at all. That's because of the vaccine.

I'm a couple of years older than you (+2 :)))

I had the Pfizer which is what you are likely to be offered giving you are under 40. I know a few people who had Pfizer. My mum had it and just a sore arm for a couple of days. My arm was sore for about 4 days, I was tired for about 3 days but then I have a 1 year old and can't guarantee that was the vaccine. It did give me a funny turn and I vommed but that was just once that night and then I slept well and felt much better

My daughter was one of the first younger people to get her Pfizer jab back at the start of February because of her job, with the first roll-out for NHS and care workers- she's had 2 doses with no side effects (she's 26) and 79 year old Uncle John also had 2 doses of the Pfizer jab with no side effects! Piggy daddy had 2 doses of AstraZeneca with no side effects too so I made him volunteer for the new study where healthy people over 30 who have had 2 doses offer to get a 3rd "wheel of fortune" booster dose of something random! I had some side effects from the AstraZeneca but I wouldnt pay much attention to that because I am always always the person who gets the "1/10,000" side effects to any medication, even paracetamol doesnt agree with me lol and the side effects were nowhere near as bad as covid- I definitely didnt die or need oxygen or a ventilator :) I'm excited for getting my 2nd dose and the side effects do mean... IT IS WORKING AND YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM IS DOING A GOOD THING :)

I had Pfizer (I juust turned 28) both times and was fine the first second I got a lymph node infection but that was probably a coincidence, not so much as a temp otherwise
