COVID-19 Who's had the vaccine?

I was able to bring my second jab forward (should have been in August) but instead had it yesterday. I was absolutely fine after my first jab but I feel horrid after the second - body aches, head feels foggy. Been at work all day with screaming 3/4 year olds which hasn't helped and now about to go and run a Girlguiding meeting....roll on bed time!

Did you have pfizer? I was pretty tired after my first, foggy head and arm ache.
Shall see how I'll be after my 2nd

I’ve both my Pfizer jabs and felt absolutely fine after both.
The only thing was a bit of tenderness at the injection site which was to be expected.
Hope everyone with nasty side effects is feeling better soon.

Son No 3 FINALLY had his 1st jab today after being turned away last week by a Hitler Jobsworth Covid Marshall who said he didn't have a booking when he did. The Pharmacy phoned him the next day and asked what he hadn't turned up!
I'm glad it worked out in the end! 👍

My eldest son finally got his first Pfizer jab yesterday, he found a pharmacy in Coventry that could fit him in 👍 He has booked the second for mid September . We're relieved that for once he is listening to us and being sensible!

Does anyone know if/when 16 year olds will be eligible for a vaccine? My younger boy hardly goes out at the moment, but he starts 6th form college in September. And he will probably have to go by bus most of the way too.

I think UK government policy right now is not to routinely give the jab to under 18s so far, but it can be given to younger teens if they have health issues that make them more vulnerable, or if they live with someone who is extremely vilnerable and had to shield- arranged via the GP on a case by case basis I think.
Although given that vaccine take up seems to be slowing while cases are rocketing up, I suspect there may be a u-turn in a month or two if there are lots of surplus doses and still some areas with low vaccine uptake amongst adults!

I agree with @PigglePuggle
Initially the government here (Switzerland) were very vague about if they were even going to offer it to under 18's, and overall our vaccine roll out was very slow.
But the adult uptake has declined dramatically, and many of the larger vaccine centres are being closed because people don't want the appointments anymore.
So they will start vaccinating the 12 - 18 year old group on Monday. In fact in some areas it has already been started, but you can only apply in the area you reside in.
I registered my 14 year old the minute it opened, was given an appointment immediately and she will be done on Tuesday and then exactly 28 days later for the second dose.

Had my second dose today. My mum's GP surgery had a walk in clinic on so she forwarded the text to me. Some aching in my arm already and just had a 15 mins power nap though that might be related to the heat rather than the vaccine

My second dose of AZ was this morning. At midday I suddenly felt very tired and went to sleep for 2 and a half hours instead of having lunch. Now feeling pretty much normal again, so hopefully that's it! My arm doesn't even feel that tender, it was really sore for a week after the first jab.

I had my 2nd pfizer last Friday so by end of next week I'll be classed as fully vaccinated..
I had it exactly 8 weeks after at my GP.
Mild headache, arm ache and tingling. I felt worse after my 1st?

I had my 2nd Pfizer jab yesterday - so far I've 'just' got a stiff, painful arm and some pain under my armpit (with a bit of nausea yesterday evening). But pleased that I've finally had both, especially with all the cases of the Delta variant that are going around here at the moment.

I've got my 2nd Pfizer jab today, little nervous as a lot of people seem to say the 2nd is the worst one. I hate being ill and don't have the time to be, so fingers crossed my immune system plays the game 🤣

My 2nd want too much worse than the first, my arm was sore and I felt more tired than first time around, headache but was able to function. It was the tiredness that got me.

That's good to know, thankyou! Fingers crossed I'm the same. Last time all I got was a sore arm.

I felt headachy with my second but didn’t with my first. That was all though. Just took a paracetamol and was fine. My arm actually hurt more after the first one

First time round for me I had quite an achy arm for a couple of days. I've just had my second Pfizer an hour ago. So far so good, not even an aching arm, yet! Hoping it continues as I have work in an hour!🤞

My 16 year old son had a letter yesterday saying he could now have his vaccination. It said he should go to one of the walk in centres, unless he's already been contacted by his GP. No mention of booking a slot at one of the bigger centres, I don't know why.

I'll try to take him next week so he's at least partly protected when he starts college in September.

I was really poorly first time but no bother second time so hopefully you will be the same 🤞

Well so far so good, my arm has ached a little on and off and I feel ever so slightly headachy and sick, but I've not eaten yet so I've a feeling that's got more to do with it than the vaccine 😅 just about to have a late lunch so hopefully that helps!

I had the Johnson & Johnson jab which I then had a bad allergic reaction to so that was “fun”. I’m grateful there was no 2nd jab with that one but I’m still not back to normal weeks later.

I’ve had no problems with either jab - Pfizer.
I even cleared the day after the jabs in the hope of having to have a day off!

If it helps I too had the Pfizer jab. The first one made me quite ill but the second one I only got an achy arm for a couple of days. Hope you don't suffer from it

I had the AZ and had no problems with either, just a stiff arm for a day or too. I’m looking forward to getting the booster and flu jab next. Flu is expected to be on the rampage this winter as people‘s immunity has dropped becuase no one caught it last year because we were all in isolation

Well I went to bed at 11pm and woke up at 2am and I've been in and out of sleep since, I feel awful 😅 shivery and achey, hot and cold, and my arm hurts like hell. I just got up to take some paracetamol so hopefully that kicks in soon!
