That's fantastic Jo. Good girl Wilma. She looks like she's really enjoying that. You must be so relieved, your hard work had paid off.

Oh flintstones, hang in there, I am sending many many good healing vibes to you and Wilma and Fred, you are such a good mommy!

It's great new's, I saw her eating this morning so decided not to top her up shall see how she is this evening she was 810 when I left her. Fingers crossed we'll have weight gain she's certainly much better.

The last couple of days I have noticed Wilma dragging her bum frequently, yesterday she had the most pungent smell coming from her urine. Thankfully we already had a vet appointment today. She was given a Baytril injection, and a course of Antibiotics to be given at home. She is also on a small amount of Tramadol in case she's in pain. We decided to stay clear of Loxicom just in case the problem is her kidneys rather than an infection. I really do hope Wilma is about to turn a corner!

The good news is, she is selectively eating but she is eating which has got to be a step in the right direction! x

Hoping it is a UTI. Lots of love to Wilma, glad she is eating something. X x

How are Wilma and Fred? x

How is Wilma? Watch her eating as the Baytril can lower appetite. Did you get an xray? If you wind up needing to use the Tramadol on a regular basis you may want to ask the vet about giving her metacloprimide as well, since Tramadol can cause bloat. Keep us posted. Much love and hugs. L

I've been topping her up well she's been on Baytril, she happily comes and greets me now but still shes not right. She has a very selective appetite I think I may have to accept she will never be 'right'. She's certainly not a dying piggy, that's for sure.

I think I may just have to get used to her needing that wee bit more attention. x

Maybe the baytril may be contributing to the selectivness? It's good she seems bright and greeting you. Hoping she will turn the corner soon, bet you are tired out...

Another option if the vet okays it is to look into Bactrim, I know my guinea had to appetite issues with it. :)

When I wanted to fatten my piggie up I did organic banana baby food, the cc care and I even did a tad of the alfalfa pellets, I know the alfalfa is I think too high in calcium for adult piggies but it did put a little weight on. Some people hav been successful with baby food that has pumpkin, squash or corn but I am pretty strict w my fur babies and only do hay, pellets and organic greens, cuke, etc. Xoxoxo keep us posted

You are a great Mommy, sorry for the reply slur, my piggy had appetite issues with the Baytril but not with the Bactrim as Bactrim is sulfa based. Good luck Momma Flinstones, keep us posted and we will be sending Wilma lots and lots of luuuvvvs! :0 Lara aka Wenton5, Skunky boo (in spirit), S'more the more mores, Little Miss Tia girl and the white knight, Romeo choo choochi Anderson. xoxoxo !
