Well my Mo has always loved having a tube to run through and chewing on cardboard. So he nearly always has a toilet tube to chew on (and toss about) aswell as one of those cardboard tubes from pets at home. It's his favourite (those of you who follow his Instagram have probably seen the tube posts lol)and I have never minded buying them because he adores it. He never pees or poos in it (par once when he had diarrhea due to the antibiotics but that was ages ago).

Anyway little Steve really loves a tube too and seemed to enjoy Mo's. He'd chew on the outside while Mo chewed the inside. Except Steve also loves to toilet in the tube and by morning it's a lovely pile of poop and urine. Not something I really like seeing Mo then chew on haha. Anyway that tube has since been thrown out.

Now I want to give them another tube but not a cardboard one because I don't want Steve to just totally destroy it due to wee/poo. I dint mind them chewing it etc. Now I want to try that hay tube that pets at home sell but not sure if it's worth the money. Will it last? Is it safe? The only other worry I have is whether Mo will fit in it but then he fit in that box I cut out for Steve so...

Thanks guys.

The hay chubes were a hit with previous piggies of ours. Cookie used to love it! It does suffer from the 'I'm eating this from the inside and pooing in it too syndrome' however. Worth trying though!

I have seen hay tunnels which have no floor so more like hay arches really. Not sure where i have seen them though.

I got mine a couple of pieces of regular plastic pipe from the DIY store.
I stuff them with hay and they love running through them and nibbling the hay.
Plus when they get dirty I can hose them out!
I did this too when my piggies were younger with a Y shaped pipe, hours of fun was had and strangely they never peed in it but poo'd heaps in it lol. I cant get one big enough for Coco now as she is a giant.

Guys I purchased this tube today in pets at home- set me back £10 but hopefully worth it. They're already chewing it and Steve has blessed it with a poo already lol. I looked at the hay/cardboard tube and agree I don't see it lasting. The Seagrass one was £8 and tiny! Mo would never have fitted. So I'm just gonna see how this one goes. Buying one of those plastic extendable tubes for their outdoor run. And a fleece tunnel is also on my shopping list haha!

Not tried these with gp's but my hamsters loved them!
At the minute it's going good. They're chewing it and running through it. Just thinking it might be a bit more robust when it comes to Steve using it as a toilet.
