Eriathwens piggies

Just done little man's bedtime feed and for the first time since his health blip, that I've seen, he's been able to do a couple of sneezes! He's had a slight whistle in his upper airways, probably some hay or pellet dust, but he's finally been able to clear it 🥹 (I have today learned the inability to sneeze is called asneezia, which is a brilliant word 🤣) so there's still progress every day! He managed to eat some soaked pellets without smooshing them into the side of the bowl so much and has eaten a lot more today than he has been managing, and while he is still choking occasionally, he is able to clear this himself and swallow it, rather than having to retch it back out with the help of me and gravity.. which also shows a lot more control and awareness of the inside of his mouth and his throat muscles.

There's likely still a long way to go, and I'm hoping the sudden increase in food doesn't cause him any digestive issues tomorrow.. I'll monitor him as close as I can, fingers crossed he continues to improve. I'm so proud of that little guy 🥹

I don't understand... funny UK saying? :hmm:

Poor soggy Silver, I'm sending virtual treats 🥬🥒🫑🥕
Yes, one of those weird English phrases. I think it's usually "knocked seven bells out of" meaning to beat very severely. The Internet says it comes from old navy language, when bells were used to mark time on a ship - eight bells meant the end of a watch period.

"knocked seven bells out "

Thanks! I never managed to get the number right 🤣

I finally managed to get Silver some intensive care emeraid for his syringe feeds, it's so much smoother than other syringe feeds he's been swallowing it so much easier and eaten twice as much as he usually would. He keeps falling asleep while grooming his little feet 😅🥰 its rather adorable.
