Hello, I have one neutered male and one female together. They have recently been bonded together and I have never had a male and a female together.

My female, I believe is in heat, she keeps getting chased round, humped, vagina licked, butt sniffed constantly. She is not receptive to this at all constantly running away, sqwacking.

How long should this last? Is she in heat?

(She had something similar roughly two weeks ago so that is my reason for thinking heat, she also eventually let him hump her that time but that hasn’t happened yet, and the male has suddenly started like this today)

is this normal? As far as I can see no injuries or anything of the sort but definitely nose punches and similar. This has mainly started today but there was a Small flair up in dominance yesterday

Hi! Welcome to the forum!

My neutered male and spayed female do the same thing. She gets tired of his antics and gives him a spray of pee in the face to let him know she's tired of his shenanigans. She will also nose punch him too and he normally gets the idea that she isn't interested.

That’s usually the case with mine, however it seems to be non-stop and high intensity tonight. They’ll have breaks to eat hay but sometimes they just end up going round and round in circles and I’m not sure what to do. I’m just slightly panicking

Although I have all females my piggies do this too. Sounds normal to me.

It shouldn't last longer than 24 - 36 hours.
Some seasons are stronger than others, but as long as they aren't fighting then it is normal behaviour.
