Just returned home to find both piggies fine but the poos (I suspect coming from Mo though most of them are like it so could also be Steve) almost purple? They haven't had beetroot but did have a mixed salad the smorning of red lettuce and normal lettuce leaves- it's not red? And there's a purple sort of blotch on the newspaper (fleece is being washed and auboise not here yet so for the day they were on newspaper). Mo just did a wee and it's normal but what the hell is going on with the poos?
 
Sounds like possibly something they have eaten something in the salad mix. If so should be out of their system soon..... No signs of blood? Can we have a photo? No hunching when pooing?

No there doesn' seem to be any sign of pain? And I've just ran his bum under the warm tap and checked his sack etc and again no sign of blood. The pictures make it look redder then it is- but when I picked a poo up in toilet paper thete was like purple on the paper not red. I've found two more splodges of purple on the paper.

I've checked both pigs and there' no sign of wounds or a fight happening while I've been out. I'll post pics now

Purple poos are not to worry about; it must be something in their salad mix. ;)

That's good, you'd see blood and internal blood would be very red. I honestly think it is something from the food mix.... keep a close eye on them as I know you will :)
 
(The poo was snapped by me not the pigs)

Theres the 3 splodges also - they are only at 1 end of the cage but poos are everywhere. Mo is acting his usual self- popcorning and getting in the way while I take pics and biting me when I checked his butt. They were actually on minion fleece yesterday and no red on there or purple.

my only concern would be the splodges, they are more purple you say?

This is the salad mix they had (they don't get frequently it was just the odd occasion) along with yellow pepper

Yeah I hoped that was the case the packaging just says mixed leaf salad so I agree with you (and hope) it's the purple leaves. I literally just returned home and came to say hello and there they were. Sort red/purple/orange hue about them. If it wasn't for the more purple colouration and the purple marks it left on toilet paper I would have been even more frantic.
