Hi! I have had guinea pigs for many many years, I am wanting to buy a new cage (2 story for 2 pairs)
I think Kavee is the best option for what I need right now with having elderly piggies!

My main question is this: I have cats, they love the guinea pigs especially laying on top of their cages, however, I'm concerned about how stable and sturdy Kavee C&C cages are. I was thinking about putting wood on the base and on top, but would the grids hold this weight plus the weight of large cats? Is there anything I can do to make it more sturdy? Any photos of pets or items on top or your C&C cages would be appreciated!

If a C&C cage isn't suitable, is anyone able to recommend other cages? The size I would like is 100cm X 100cm square (the C&C would be 3X3 grid), this is the maximum space I can fit. I would need 2 separate floors or 2 separate cages (this is not preferred and only a last resort) I would prefer mainly mesh like the C&C grids as I like to be able to see them all at all times.

Hopefully someone here can help me out, a new cage is needed quite soon! I would love something that will last and could be adjusted to any future needs, hence why I was looking at Kavee. Budget is less than £200.

I have a c&c cage with storage underneath and a lid. I have the clear panels at the front. I wasn’t sure how sturdy it’d be so I’ve used cable ties to reinforce it. This has made it sturdy. Depending on the weight of the wood on top it might be too heavy - I’d probably try and discourage the cats from laying on the top so having a grid lid would do that. It also would allow plenty of air to circulate.

Please remember that the original use for the C&C grids is storage shelves. They hold an average of 3.63kg with the enclosed plastic connectors.

Unfortunately with my cats, the grid wouldn't stop them from laying on there so I wonder if I can do anything else to stop them?

I have a cat ,i use commercial cages.eg 140 cm x75 cm cage ferplast from PAH.I find it sturdy, and big enough for a pair.c and c cage would not support a cat.
I do like ferplast cages, I'm having trouble finding a square shape one. The reason for the weird sizing and limited length is that the cage will be placed on top of the rabbits run, which half the run has a removable lid so the cage can't go onto that part

Just looked on line Robert dyas do it for £89 pounds ....pay for postage.
Amazon do it for £99.
It's called little friends cage 100cm x100cm.it square, but the square footage is good.
I'm sorry I've no idea how to provide links.

You can also get the Little Friends 100 x 100 cage for around £95 on ebay. I used to have a Little Friends 160 cage it was very robust.

Thank you both so much! This is literally perfect, I wonder if I buy 2 of them and sit them on top of each other! Any ideas how i can attach them safely?
