Hello I am new to the site and a first time Guinea pig owner just looking for an answer I have a question about. I bought 2 male Guinea pigs (vet gender checked) about 2 months ago, they are reaching approx 5 months old at the end of June. The boys I have come from 2 different litters. Tonight I have noticed one of them have a large bump at the back of his bum. I’m just wondering if they’re the testicles? I didn’t know Guinea pigs testicles could drop to look that big as I’m a first time Guinea pig owner. I didn’t even know they could get that big as before I could hardly see them. Will this happen to my other piggy too?

Hi

Boar testicles can vary widely in size but once fully descended at the age your boys are just coming up to, the size of a full 'treasure chest' can b a bit staggering. The testicles descend between 4-6 months of age.
