Junior Guinea Pig
Hello everyone,
My guinea pig Nymeria is peeing blood. I only found out today, to my knowledge yesterday this wasn't happening.
I immediately took her to an exotics vet and they took an x-ray and a pee sample. There were no bladder stones so the vet said it's possible it's either a urinary track infection or an ovarian cyst that burst.
Tomorrow I'll know the results of the pee test, to see if it's an urinary track infection.
If not she'll have to have an ultrasound done and if it's cysts she'll have a surgery.
All of this is extremely costly but I'm willing to pay anything to safe my baby.
Has anyone else had something like this happen? Is it more likely to be an infection? That would be best of two evils I assume.
She isn't eating a lot so I syringe fed her.
Her companion Bubbles doesn't seem to have a big appetite either, which is odd for her. Is this normal? Should I be worried for her?
