For some context: this is my 1yo male guinea pig who I just rehomed 3 weeks ago with his brother! In the video I was holding him and petting him and he was making these noises? Not sure if they’re happy or annoyed squeaks? I think annoyed? He seemed to squeak specifically when I petted his back? His old owner said they enjoyed being handled and would sit and watch tv with them! Any advice would be appreciated. I’ve included a link to the video of the squeaks (had to link it through flikr as it wouldn’t let me post it through the site for some reason?)

Hello. I’m no expert and my two boys don’t make that particular noise but it does sound like a cross sound to me. Were both boys doing it? Or just the one you were touching?

I cannot listen to the sound as it wants various things enabled to do so. Using YouTube is generally a good way to get video to us.
We cannot host video directly on the forum - it is too expensive. All video needs to be uploaded to a hosting site first (on a public setting) and then a link to it posted here. Please accept that not all members use all social media services.

I’m not sure those would be counted as happy squeaks. They generally don’t like being stroked on the back, up to a point. May be he just doesn’t like it at all though.

He doesn’t like his lower back being touched, not a lot of piggies do. Ok to do under chin, top of head and around their ears and nose,
