So I have had a fleece liner for a long time now, and since I got tired of handwashing it, I decided to buy a pet laundry bag so I could wash it in the laundry machine. Yesterday, I tried out the laundry bag for the first time. I only have one fleece liner, so I placed that inside the bag and put it inside the machine. I added vinegar. Everything was going well at first. During the first cycle, the machine started to shake lightly, but it was manageable. Then, during the second cycle, "rinse" , the machine started to shake violently, and made a strange noise as if a hammer was being banged against it with full force. After that, I took the fleece out and left it to dry ( although it's still not clean). I was told that I had to balance my laundry load, which means that I would need another load of clothing the same weight as the fleece to add to the laundry. Since I only own one fleece liner, I am forced to choose from our family's clothing to fill it in (which I really do not want to do). My family is very unhappy about this situation, and sooner or later, the laundry machine will malfunction. What would you guys do in this situation? How do you guys handle guinea pig fleece laundry?
Note: Our laundry machine is old fashioned and the lid is at the top. Newer machines all have the lid on the side.
