Hi. I’m taking one of my new guinea pigs to the vet because I suspect she may have a URI. I’m not 100%, but I’m leaning more towards she does than she doesn’t. The problem is she is still adjusting to her environment and is completely terrified of me. I need advice on how to quickly & efficiently administer medicine through a syringe to her, the thought of not being able to do it is really stressing me out. Burrito wrap? Anything? All advice (preferably throrough and applies to a small, new & terrified guinea pig that I haven’t even held yet). Thank you.

Firstly - I hope your piggy is OK - It's very wise to get her vet checked.

I'm no expert at giving piggies medication so , you're not on your own

here is a guide that may help you

You may just have to go for it. Practice with water first. Or ask the vet if you can bring her in everday for them to do it. But if its far away you wont want to do that. If you try water only give like 0.3 ml at a time. Incase you asparate your pig

Thank you. Regarding your suggestion on taking her to the vet everyday, would that cost money? I’d assume it would, as it’s their time that you’re using. It might also depend on the vet, but I’m not sure. If they did it for free my worries would be all gone, lol! :)) I thank you again for the suggestions!

Mine did it once for.me but it was because of it being a needle injection. Worth asking i guess
