so, about 2 years ago I got two guinea pigs. Unfortunatly, last year one of them died. Of course I immediatly went to my parents to ask for another one because, as you probably know, guinea pigs shouldn't be alone! My Mom said yes but my dad said no due to the cost of housing when we go away on holiday. My guinea pig has been showing signs of depression like not eating, not coming out of hiding ect and I'm really worried! Dad still won't budge though! How do I convince him? Please Help!

@GingerPiggie It's unlikely to depression if you lost your pig last year, it would have been more immediate.

It sounds like your pig is ill, and so will need to see a good guinea pig vet straight away.

Starting from today, make sure you weigh your pig weekly so you can see if there is a problem.

Have you been handfeeding the pig? If not, tell the vet when you are there and ask them for the supplies, and to show you how to handfeed the pig.

Explain to him why guinea pigs need company, and ask your mum to help convince him. Put some of your own money towards it too so that you're showing responsibility.
