Long Hair Care!

Hey everyone! I recently adopted a baby long hair guinea pig. I was wondering what hair care is needed when she is older! I am not a 100% sure what long hair breed she is but I believe she is a silkie(Sheltie) if that helps! I want my little girl to have the locks of a angel, so throw it all at me!

Mine are all short haired, so can't help you unfortunately, but would still very much like to see a pic of your baby girl (and I bet I'm not the only one either!)

I cant really show this to well because her hair is flat but when its puffed up(which she hates) its really clear her hair is going to be long!

Her name is Elaine and she is around 11 weeks of age!

I'm in love with your little Elaine! They are so sweet at that age. I recently was privileged to have a cuddle with a beautiful Sheltie piggy called Gethin - absolute stunner he is; now I'm definitely wanting a sheltie

Awww. Six of mine are long haired. I keep them trimmed esp around their bottoms. Stops them getting damp skirts from their wee. Three of them get long fringes so I trim them to help them see where they are going!

Mistletoe with a short fringe

Caramel in need of a hair cut

Tani with long hair which hardly needs trimming

Jingle, the only one who will put up with being brushed so I keep her fur quite long except round her bottom

Primrose has semi long fur so no problem to care for

Cherry B middle right needs a lot of trimming and Rosie, left needs none

What a wee honey Elaine is! I just brush my long haired boys. I occasionally give them a wee trim, but only bathed them once when I first got them as they were very matted and a bit smelly. They're getting new dos for the summer though. I'll need to do before and after pics.
