Query - Possibly failed bond?

So I felt I would know if a bond has failed but I’m unsure.

As you know I recently welcomed my new addition Stitch for Steve.

I returned home from work today and Steve has a scratch on his nose and a tiny tiny speck of a scratch near his eye. It’s not a wound I’m concerned about. It’s not deep etc and is just like if you or I scratched our hand. They’re both still in the cage eating etc I wouldn’t say one is hiding away from the other and they’re not seeking each other out to kill each other like Bellamy was with Steve.

They have been rumbling a bit more at each other and the odd teeth chatter and face off (which I presume has happened while I was at work only Steve was too slow or didn’t back down). But stitch has also just had his testicles drops so I know at the moment hormones are high with him and Steve had a mini bloat episode yesterday.

just want reassurance that this isn’t the end for their bond

Sometimes that can be the result of a misplaced swipe. Keep an eye on them and see how they go. How long have they been together?

Been together now since before Christmas...believe it was the 20th when I eventually decided to bond them. They have their squabbles yes but again only just started up recently and stitch has just had his testicles drop down so I guess he is testing boundaries. Don’t want Steve to get hurt but they’re not constantly at each other so I also don’t want to break them apart from worrying too ea

Like since I’ve been home they haven’t tried to attack each other. Had a face off once when both came out a tunnel and met each other head on, but been asleep and now munching on a slice of cucumber each. I can’t find any blood in the cage and can tell from the poos that Steve and stitch have been moving around the cage

How were they before Stitch hit his teens? Was Steve the top pig and Stitch accepted it, or was it the other way round?

Stitch has been very good. Apart from the mounting when I first put them together in the bath tub they’ve been brilliant. Haven’t seen any further mounting they follow each other about and stitch eats with Steve etc despite having two bowls and water bowls. This is the first time they’ve really been testing each other which makes it more worrying. The smorning Steve has again got a small scratch on his nose but I was watching and again I wouldn’t say they were fighting or necessarily being aggressive but Steve goes to show he is boss and stitch will rarely swipe around and nip which is what’s happened here. I’m at work again today worrying! But mum is watching them for me and gonna poke her head in every now and again

Steve has been top pig and stitch let him do what he wants. Stitch still does now for the most part it’s just when he gets annoyed that he seems to nip. He rumble struts now but it’s not at Steve if u get what I mean he’ll do it when he is nowhere near Steve

I wish I could help. . I've tried couple bonds and failed.
I have 2 New piggies Mavis and Daughter Moo. They are together and most time fantastic no problem.
Other day I was at home and bit friction. . .rumbling Moo would not leave her mum alone. . .after a while Mother rumbled and put Moo in her place. . They fine .
Hope your two are ok. I do know if blood or fighting then it's a no.

only thing that upsets me is I know they shouldn’t be alone, but I also don’t currently have the space where I’m at to keep bringing boars homeif they’re then going to fall out lol. I’m also the pigmum who can’t then get rid of them either if the bond doesn’t work.

At the moment the boys are still together and I’m letting them work it out. It’s not anything like how Steve and Bellamy were when I decided to split them as that was full on ‘I’m going to kill you’ mode and still is if they even smell the other one. It’s just like Steve gets annoyed with stitch and they have a squabble then are ok. I love them so much
