I believe my boys has got mites as i can see bug crawling in their fur!
I was wondering what has caused this, is it common and how do i treat?
Can i buy something to fix it or should I go straight to vet?

If you can, please see a vet for a full diagnosis and don't home treat with cheap, low dosed shop products; you need to make sure that any insecticidal shampoos are actually suitable for small animal.

It sounds like lice; they can make an appearance as can any skin parasites. Your vet is likely to give you a higher dosed form of ivermectin than pet shops are allowed to sell.

Please be aware that you needed to leave 48 hours between each topical application, whether that is a spot-on or a shampoo. If you want to use a shampoo additionally if the ivermectin on its own is not doing the trick, then lice'n'easy shampoo from Gorgeous Guineas is specially formulated for guinea pigs.
